what's the median nd avg package?

With my rank im probably getting dsai in csab and it's the best option I have rn , it's pretty far away from my state as I come from north and I have never been out of my city for studies and all. So my parents are naturally worried about me , I just wanted to ask if girls are guaranteed hostels on campus , and is the campus very safe for girls? Will their be any language related issues , ofc I can communicate in English with my peers but just wanted to ask if there's a lot of people from northern States, not being rude I'm just curious

I am Vrashabha Nilajagi, recently graduated, this is how I got scammed at placements by Oracle Finance (OFSS).

Early September 2025, I was in 7th semester, placement season was going on, this was a very early phase in the placement season and only a few companies had come earlier. so this company ORACLE FINANCIAL SERVICES SOFTWARE LIMITED came to our college for placements. First round was Online Assessment and then selected students were called for face to face interviews. I was also selected for the interviews. It was Sept 8, it took a whole day to conduct interviews and after 2 rounds of interviews I and 8 more students were selected. I was very happy after months of hard work I finally had a job. More importantly, I was happy because my parents were proud of me. Happy ending right? Unfortunately no.

I was happy but there was something going on in my mind. Did I make the right choice? or I could have gotten a better offer? but since institute placement policy allows only one offer per student, even though I was not satisfied I consoled myself saying at least I have a job. Days passed, our 7th semester ended and all students of our batch went home. Since the job offer was FTE the work did not start until graduation i.e., till August. Still I had 9 months. So why simply waste time in my hometown? I thought of applying for an internship off-campus(reminder that I could not sit for on campus because I already had an offer). After applying for 9-10 companies I finally got a call for the interview. I cleared the interview and they asked me to join immediately on location, but my parents wanted me to stay in my home, they said anyways I am leaving after 8 months so it is the last chance to be with them for a long time.

Days passed and Oracle sent an update regarding the joining date, it was Aug 18, although it was very late but I thought okay at least I can spend more time with my family. After some days they sent an update regarding the laptop model, and then regarding relocation details. their last update before today was on May 18 they sent our office location. I was too excited for the job and so were my parents.

Everything was going well but today I received a call from an unknown number, on the other end a lady, after confirming my name she said, "You employment at Oracle has been revoked", I was shocked, I kept asking her what she meant by revoked, is it postponed, or is any other problem is there, but she meant I was fired from my job which i did not even join. I was shell-shocked. I did not know what to do, at first I thought it was a prank call then came official mail from CGC. Yeah it is confirmed I along with 8 more students' employment is cancelled.  After 9 months of assurance, relaxation and security of having a job offer everything was taken away from me in a snap.

Even after getting placed before most of the students I am now is empty handed. Almost all of the companies' drive for our batch has already ended.

This is the value of our life and our future for them, they can end years of hard work, years of sacrifice and years of dream in a phone call.

I just want to know what is the best option for me.

will i have a better network in iiit?can my placement be comparable to bits?

(i)are placement number given inflated?

(ii) what are the major Cons?

(iii) does MFAANG comes to recruit from here?
