Guys ya cybersecurity kasi branch hoti hai ???

I am thinking about joining IIIT pune cybersecurity, how is the scope there ??? And how much different it is compared to cse , can I get job in core if I don't get job in cybersecurity???

Like if cse avg 18 lpa what might be the avg of cybersecurity? Like only this year this branch is introduced in pune

Hey there

Final year student 2026 here got internship Nagarro Software

People are reaching out on LinkedIn Instagram WhatsApp about iiit pune

I'll break everything down so you can choose what's better for you

Let's begin with cons

  1. Talegaon isn't near pune ,you have to travel 30 km if you are not opting for hostel then that's like 1 hour
  2. Placement it's good in cs nearly 65 to 70 percent got placed BUT

They included people who got internship but no ppos ,and people weren't happy about it

But our institution have to do this to make our placements stats appealing

There were two list placements stats with and without internship+ppos

The list without ppos is public to you all on the website

Generally the list with ppo is prohibited 🚫 as the stats heavily drops

For our institution reputation we are prohibited to speak about it

  1. Generally 35 percent of the batch's ppos got converted right now in cs and for ece it's similar 25-30 ish

4.ece avg was inflated a bit not by unfair means but due to limited batch size and less people getting internship and ppos

  1. Ece as of now is not stable here,afaik texas instruments and other major semiconductor companies/firms have not visited this year

  2. Similar google , Microsoft have not visited our campus this year aswell ,amazon 3 people were able to secure ppos

  3. Development issues , despite being a national institution our funding is heavily cut and new hostel tender has not yet been finalised ,it would take atleast 4 years to build new hostels,we got no proper fencing and gates

8.if you are a sports enthusiast , I'm sorry you have to compromise ,we got minimal sports facilities ,no grounds nothing ,but a temporary ground is being built behind the main building

  1. Food is okyish but we got no non veg as of now

  2. 3rd year students and probably next year's 2nd year have to stay off campus hostels,4th years we had online options to continue our course

  3. Pune location won't benefit ,as our campus is in Talegaon and most of the engineering colleges are located in main pune (I hate it)

  4. We don't have a decent alumini network

Pros -

  1. We got decent food in veg
  2. Maintaining cgpa in 1st 3rd year is easier,2nd year is mostly a little tough for people

3.gender ratio is not that bad as compared to other iiits

  1. 1st year you won't be troubled for hostels

  2. Many guys figure out different career paths and eventually opt for masters or PhD

6.we got a decent senior junior interaction,as long as you won't provoke them they would do nothing to you

  1. We are still developing

And lastly I don't have any idea about new branches like vlsi,cyber,dsai

Dsai would be good

But can't guarantee about vlsi and cyber

As ece is not doing that well here

Cyber on other hand have a bit less opportunity than dsai until our tpo and placement cell does some magic

clarification regarding placements and other doubts

saw a post yesterday saying only 35% have been placed in cse so i asked a few seniors who were placement coordinators, they said 70% students have been placed in cse and most internships have gotten converted into ppos, they also said every college includes internship + ppos in their placement report, we have got a new director 2 months ago who has been working really hard, you can check the college linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/school/iiitpune/posts/?feedView=all to check some of the new developments being done such as signing a MOU with IIT Bombay, there is a person named u/PizzaNo4213 who is trying really hard to spread misinformation about iiit pune, maybe he wants to reduce competition so that he can get iiit pune, how I am saying this? Check his profile and you will see most of his comments are about hatred towards iiit pune, i am a senior, there were almost no people here from iiit pune so i decided to help students, you can ask your doubts here or in linkedin directly to iiit pune students and you will know that what i have said is factually correct, you can ask your doubts directly here, i will try to answer as many as possible

documents help

so i got iiit Pune CSE but i don't have caste validity certificate and process of caste validity will start in 2 day then i will have only 1 month before i have to submit documents in college offline which is not enough and maybe i have to take drop due to this issue is there anyone who has faced this issue what did you do ?

Clarification: I2IT Pune is not IIIT Pune

For those new to this - Pune has two colleges:
- *Indian* Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Pune (the real deal)
- *International* Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) Pune (a lower tier local college)

A lot of I2IT people incorrectly call themselves as being from IIIT Pune.

Just a clarification if you’re researching about IIIT Pune.
