Just want a quiet pint haha

Hi,

Booked a guest house in Ipswich for Saturday as a base for a beach weekend (Felixstowe / Suffolk coast). Now second-guessing the plan a bit.

Hotel is non-refundable and doesn’t have AC, so slightly worried about heat + comfort.

Rough plan was:

• Morning: Felixstowe beach
• Midday: check-in + rest
• Afternoon: maybe drive up to Southwold / Walberswick (and possibly crabbing)
• Evening: back to Ipswich

Main concern:

• If it’s very hot, not sure how realistic it is to comfortably do beach + walking around all day
• Worried Ipswich might feel like a “nothing to do” base and we’ll end up stuck or bored

Question:

• Is this a sensible plan for a hot Saturday, or am I overthinking it?
• What are good things to do around Ipswich / Suffolk coast that work in heat (with a car)?
• Any better way to structure the day?

Have already been to Cambridge and Ely, so looking for something different this time.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hairdressers that will be best for someone who hasn’t had a professional cut in more than a decade, and feels a bit nervous about it?

My hair is long and I want someone who will respect that I don’t want a huge chop to start with, but gradual help with any damage.

I’m worried whoever I see might not respect my wishes.

Does anyone know what’s happening with this place? Looks like they might be renovating or opening as something else?

Hi, apologies if this is not the right place to ask, but I don't really know where to start with this.

Someone called Nicky for the past few months has been under the impression that my phone number is hers. It actually started about 5 years ago when I was contacted by Smartmove in Marbella asking if Nicky was going to follow up her enquiry.

Since then it was quiet until last year, when I suddenly started getting the occasional text from Shein, with updates to 'my' order. I thought nothing of it, and just ignored it. The last few months, the Shein texts have massively increasing in volume, as well as a text from a book publisher asking if Nicky was still interested in publishing her self help book. I then put two and two together and realised that it's most likely the same Nicky as the Smartmove Marbella enquiry, as well as Shein.

Then today, I've just had a text from WeBuyAnyCar about selling a Ford, not addressed to anyone specific, but it did give me the postcode (not that I'm putting that on Reddit).

So, if anyone knows a Nicky in the Martlesham area, who has recently ordered a fair amount from Shein, was looking at moving to Marbella a few years ago, has recently tried to get a self-help book published, and is currently trying to sell a Ford to WBAC for £705, please could you tell her to double check her phone number.

I’m new to Ipswich and I don’t have any friends here. I It’s a nearby local to me and been a few times and even when family have visited had meals there.

I went over to a mixed group and asked if I could join as they looked around my age they said it would be fine and had introductions.. mentioned I didn’t have any friends and was new to area. They laughed at me when I said I didn’t have any friends, we all were talking for around 10-15 mins and barman came over and said about having a chat with me. This ended with they had complained and I ended up being ejected from the pub. I wouldn’t have minded if they said to leave the table, but outright told to leave the pub.
I wasn’t intoxicated, I had only purchased my second pint. (Which I didn’t even get to finish!)
Just a rant I suppose, I’m so fed up of being lonely and making effort and trying to socialise when you get embarrassed like that. M29 if it matters. It’s not even 6pm on a Friday 🙃
