Anyone in the north east USA have a set of TJ axels with 4.56 gears for sale or know a guy to regear?
reddit.com95 YJ Vacuum Help
Having issues with my breaks locking up and 4x4 not engaging. My dad had me check the vacuum lines, and this is what I found, apologies for the crap pics lol
Found one line that looks like its coming from the transmission, disconnected from a T that was hanging at the back of the engine bay. Assuming that's one of my 4x4 vacuum lines.
Found another T further down the same line with a short hose that is just hanging there, but I have no idea where thats supposed to go. Where all the vacuum lines land at the engine doesnt look like its missing anything to me.
Then there's the can with the black lid that looks like one side is missing a line. Is that where my short hose is supposed to go?
Any help/insight would be great
Sea Bass and possibly its last journey with me to the Texas Coast
Sad to say it might be time to let Sea Bass swim off into the sunset at someone’s ranch where it doesn’t need to go over 25 MPH. Sadly the rear breaks have gone and with the rust (from Ohio winters) on the frame is too scary for me to have my family in it anymore. I’ve never been as emotional about any vehicle in my life. I’ve probably only put about 500 miles on it total. But the memories of the 5 years I owned it and my brother owning it for 5 years in Ohio will live on with me and my family forever. Good bye, Sea Bass you were a true G. I actually started crying writing this. 😂
A true Barn Find
Miracles do happen! An elderly gentleman I met through work mentioned he had a car in the barn he hadn't driven since he had a stroke 23 years ago and asked if I might help him get rid of it. He had been a Beoing enginner for 40 years then had a stroke and couldn't drive stick any longer.
I went out to the barn and saw this 1989 wrangler sahara hardtop. ZERO RUST, one owner 112k miiles. Sahara hard top, soft top, rear luggage rack, after market bumper and pushbar, bikini top, rear seat covers, sway bars... it was loaded. I told him I might be interested in it and that I'd come see him the next day. I went home and tried to come up with a good number that was a good deal for me and a good deal for him. I went back and offered him 9000.00. He said "sorry, I can't do that". I said I understand and that I will put it on facebook for him. He said "you didn't hear my counter". " 1000.00 cash".
And that's how I got my YJ. I trailered it home and changed out all the fluids and hoses. It started right up. I took it to get detailed immediately, then I put on a 3" lift and 33" tires- the largest that would fit the stock rims. I put on a weber 32/36- something I'd never attempted before... and now I have a reliable, fun as hell summer car that I'm in to for about 4000.00.
Keep your eyes open!
