Do I have a chance?

I’ve applied for several positions in Dubai, ranging from host roles to marketing, but I’ve never received a single response. Do you have any advice for me? What should I improve?

What’s your salary in Abu Dhabi/UAE? Curious to know the real market ranges 👀🇦🇪

Lately I’ve been wondering what people across different industries in the UAE are actually earning, because honestly the salary ranges here can be all over the place. Sometimes two people with similar experience are getting completely different packages.

Thought it would be interesting and maybe helpful for others too if people shared their role, experience, and salary range openly. Could help a lot when negotiating offers or understanding the market better.

I’ll start with mine:

IT Engineer
5 years total experience
3 years in UAE
AED 8K/month

Would genuinely love to hear from people working in different fields as well IT, healthcare, aviation, oil & gas, retail, hospitality, finance, construction, government, anything really.

Only if you’re comfortable sharing of course. No negativity or judging anyone’s pay/package everyone’s journey is different. Just trying to understand the reality of the market here in Abu Dhabi/UAE.

[Hiring] Technical / Programmatic SEO Specialist for Dubai PropTech Web Platform (Remote / Retainer)

Hey everyone,

I’m the founder of DoorKee.co, an early-stage, end-to-end transactional PropTech rental marketplace based in Dubai.

We are not a basic listing board or an anti-broker site. We are an ecosystem play. Anyone can list on our site (landlords, brokers, property management companies), but the entire transaction lifecycle—from the initial search, viewing setups, and digital leasing to post-move utility bill tracking and payment management—stays entirely inline on our web application.

📍 Where We Are At

We are currently in a web-only validation phase to prove product-market fit before building native apps. Our absolute focus is driving high-intent web traffic and converting users directly on our web application.

Because we are a new domain competing against massive legacy portals (Bayut, Property Finder), a generic blogging/content strategy will not work. We need a structural, product-led, and programmatic SEO strategy.

🛠️ What We Need Help With:

Faceted Navigation & Indexation Control: Setting up bulletproof URL parameters and indexation rules for our multi-filter search system (Beds, Baths, Budget, Sub-locations) to maximize crawl budget and prevent infinite loops.

Web App State Management: Making sure dynamic user states (bidding funnels, user dashboards, payment screens) are strictly isolated (noindex/canonical) while public programmatic listing templates index flawlessly.

E-E-A-T & Trust Optimization: Enhancing on-page optimization for Google's E-E-A-T signals to support safe web transactions and compliance mapping.

Dynamic Schema Deployment: Implementing automated structured data (RealEstateListing, Product, ItemList) across scalable local community hubs.

Inventory Lifecycle Protocol: Building a clean system to handle expired/rented listings so we preserve historical search equity instead of throwing 404s.

👤 Who You Are:

You are an engineer-minded SEO professional. You think in databases, site architecture, and web user flows—not just keyword stuffing.

You have verifiable experience working with marketplaces, directory structures, large-scale e-commerce, or SaaS platforms.

Your daily toolstack includes Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or SEMrush.

💰 Budget & Engagement:

This will start as a monthly retainer. We are looking for an expert freelancer who can own the strategy and technical execution blueprint.

How to Apply: Please DM me with a brief summary of your experience with complex web applications or marketplaces, your current toolstack, and your ballpark monthly retainer expectations in AED or USD. (Please skip the generic agency copy-paste pitches; I want to talk to the person actually doing the work).

Looking for opportunities in Dubai – Finance & Audit professional (Big 4 background)

My wife recently joined a tech company in Dubai, so we relocated. Back home, I never had to apply for jobs – offers came to me consistently.
Now, 2 months in, I’m navigating the Dubai job market for the first time and realizing how different it is. Applications go into a void.
Background:
• 5 years at Deloitte, reached Audit Manager in 3.5 years via two consecutive double promotions
• Led audits for some of the world’s largest companies across aviation, healthcare, automotive, energy, construction, and steel manufacturing ( 16+ different companies managed annually)
• IFRS, FP&A, budgeting, MIS reporting, variance analysis, IPO readiness, Dcf
• Client relationship management, proposal preparation, and engagement ownership at CFO/board level
• Led teams of 50+ team members across multiple concurrent engagements annually
• ACCA (9/13) will be focused after cpa, CPA 7/8, final exam’s score is pending. (To clear things up: in my country, you must pass a pre-entry exam, then complete 3 years of mandatory work experience and training (previous experience doesn't count), and then pass 8 written exams to get your CPA. It's a longer and harder than USCPA, which explains how someone can become an Audit Manager along the way.)
• Based in Dubai with spause visa, immediately available
Open to: FP&A, Controller, Audit Manager/Assistant Manager roles in UAE.
If you’ve been through this or know someone who can help – would really appreciate any advice or connections.

Need advice

Long story short, my company already terminated almost everyone. We are a real estate brokerage in Dubai, and now only me and one other girl were left. We both already completed our probation period, so I thought they cannot terminate us without proper notice and payments.

A few weeks ago I called labour and explained the situation. The lady told me that if the company terminates me, I may have rights to get 3 months salary advance, payment for unused vacation days, and ticket money if I go back to my country. So I felt a bit confident after hearing that.

But today they terminated the other girl too. She only got 1 month notice. When I asked her about the 3 months salary advance thing, she said she doesn’t know if the company will actually give it.

Now I’m stressed because this morning I already bought tickets to visit my country for a small vacation. I haven’t gone back in almost 2 years. I’m worried that after I return, they will suddenly terminate me too and not pay properly.

Right now they already reduced us to half day work and half salary. Because of that, I started finding freelance work outside and luckily I already got a few clients. Even if things go bad next month, I think I can somehow survive here.

I just want to know honestly, does UAE labour law actually protect employees in situations like this? If they terminate me, will I really get the 3 months salary advance and other payments, or only 1 month notice salary?

I just need some peace of mind so I can enjoy this vacation without stress
