Hi oppars and unnirs,

I'm the mod over at r/kpoop, and I owe you all an honest apology for the miscommunication that came from our side, including the post my automated moderator message caused.

First, some context. r/kpoop was originally a sub for funny stuff, memes, and inside jokes that didn't quite fit r/kpop itself. It had been quiet for a very long time before you all arrived.

About the moderator message: I want to explain in full what happened. That message was an automated response that gets sent when someone is banned. Your leader's post was removed because it didn't fit what the subreddit was about at the time, and the automated system fired off that message alongside the ban. It was never meant as a personal attack, but I understand completely why it came across badly, and I'm sorry for the hurt and confusion it caused.

That said, I've seen my wrongs and I want to make up for them properly. So I'm turning r/kpoop into a page celebrating KATSEYE and their success. They truly are the best international K-pop stars out there, and their influence reaches incredibly far. It only feels right that the energy you all brought to the sub becomes its new identity.

Thank you, genuinely, for making the subreddit active again after so long. Seeing this influx of new people has been wonderful.

You are all more than welcome to post and participate in r/kpoop. The door is wide open.

With sincere apologies and gratitude

Every new video of katseye including daniela the people under the comments talk about her eyebrows as she apparently bleached them. It was subtle at first, but then it was EVERYWHERE and im so sick of it. People were even saying it was the company's choice, not hers. Although it may be the case, there is a chance it might be Danielas choice. Just because you don't like the look, dosent mean you have to say that. The comments like "WHERE ARE HER EYEBROWS?" every video of daniela ITS MAKING ME INSANE. This is quite unusual for a antisnark sub, but I'm just saying this as a point of view.

This spooked the hell out of it, it felt so real. I was sleeping peacefully until my dream switched to Katseye for some reason. But it was weird…Daniela died this year or next year, idk I remember she had bleached her eyebrows. Everyone was mourning her and I see all the Katseye members including Manon at an award show holding back tears thanking Daniela as a screen shows her in a sliver dress. I remember I was crying too in my dream, cause it felt so real. That’s all I have to say because it’s a dream and I forgot some details. And yes this happened on god.

I wish you the happiest birthday Dani :) No matter how much hate you face, eyekons will be there to support you till the very end. (completely unrelated too but hbd to Tate Mcrae)

Now I will acknowledge that 50% of the snarksub will make good points, almost every snark sub does. But snarking overall isn't good. (I did use a translator for this but idk if it was an accurate one) Also this is very long and I apologize 😭

Queerbaiting
I’ve been thinking about how the term queerbaiting gets used online and honestly I don’t really agree with how it’s turned into a label people throw at idols or performers just because they interpreted something a certain way. I get why people might feel like Megan and Lara’s m.i.a performance felt uncomfortable because Lara has a boyfriend (Megan isn't confirmed to have one) but that still doesn’t automatically mean intentionally 'queerbaiting' or that it’s fair to accuse them of “queerbaiting” or deny their sexuality. To me it feels less like criticism and more like people judging performances based on personal interpretation. Coming from someone who is lesbian.

Racial identity !!

What also stands out to me is how the snark sub is always talking about someones race or ethnicity. Most of the some it's the samething just rephrased. Esp with dani, i've seen people reduce her to stereotypes like “basic white girl with blonde hair”, even though her hair is not naturally blonde and she has literally spoken about disconnecting from her cultural identity once highschool started. As someone fluent in Spanish, half peruvian and have been to Peru many times, I think it’s messed up how easily people discredit her background just because she doesn’t fit their idea of what she “should” be like or look like ethnically. Why are we even questioning peoples identities in the first place?? That's something thats always made me feel the wrong way. Goes the same for Megan, Lara and Manon too.

Snarking as a whole People are against 'Hate' and don't believe that people should lose their lives over hate, but snarking is a huge thing that contributes to hate as it spreads racism, hate and misogyny. There ARE these 3 things in every snark sub. No one should be denying that, but to be against those things and be in a snark sub where they spread that is crazy to me. Especially after Mikayla Raines passed away due to a snark sub. Even if there was good criticism in there, there was no reason to be hating to the point where she felt like she needed to take her life. If a snarker is aware that someone passed away due to a snark sub and they go contribute to other snark subreddits.. they're hypocrites and no one can change my mind on that. Someone participating in something when they know it could potentially end someone's life is just insane. There are also many studies where snarking on someone imapcts a snarkers brain negatively.

Imo the girls haven't done anything THAT bad to the point where they need hate, I also don't think they're problematic. People just don't like them and are most likely annoyed by them, also something i've noticed is that alot of snarkers are in here especially when they get called out. If they don't want eyekons in your sub why are they in our sub 😭??

And this really doesn't apply to people who see problems with hxg or see things that the girls do that they don't like and they're atleast respectful about it. Mostly about people hate on & the ones who claim to hate the girls and yet posting updates and speculate abt the girls life. Just as parasocial as some of the fans**,** there are multiple videos and people on reddit outside of snark subs and almost every one of them thinks snarking is parasocial behavior.
