Thoughts on the drive by wire system?

I recently saw a very old rant about the drive by wire system in the 2009 mazda 3 and it got me thinking. I have never had issues with the drive by wire system in my 2008 2 and it’s virtually the same response wise to a cabled throttle system. What were your experiences with the drive by wire system like in these cars?

Weird noise

Hey guys! The other day i hit the curb with a solid 50 km/h. Luckily no one got hurt expect my two tyres on the left side. The car did jump a bit tho.

The mechanic put one of the front wheel on the rear and put two new tyres on, did a switchero so basically i have two new tyres in the front and one of the wheel from the rear is put to the front. I picked my car up today and at higher speeds, starts around 70 km/h i start to hear a kind of woooo sound. It's almost like when an electric car accelerates fast.

Anyone has a guess what is that wooo sound? And if it's normal? I guess it could be normal in case rear and front wheel change? Maybe the wheels have to "fall into place"?

Mazda Demio 2009 Auto 1.5L AT light

Hey everyone, just after some advice on a weird issue with my 2009 Mazda Demio 1.5L auto.

Couple months ago AT light originally came on and off intermittently and then stayed on. I took it to a mechanic who changed the transmission fluid. I thought that might fix it, but the light is still coming on.

I’ve also had it scanned with an OBD reader and no codes show up at all.

What’s strange is that it disappears when I’m going uphill.

The car itself drives completely fine with no issues or noise.

Next step will probably be replacing the TCM but I'm still in the process of looking for a replacement part.

Any advice appreciated.

First gear jerks when driving

Hi guys,

So I own a 2011 1.3L manual mazda2, it’s my first manual (after driving an EV for nearly a year) and I’ve had it for just under a month.

I’ve realised when I drive in first gear, the car jerks forwards and back quite often, about 5 times every 2 seconds, and I can see the rev meter jump up and down in response. This usually happens after going 5mph.

Does anyone know why this happens or if I should worry? And what should I do in such a situation?

Thanks in advance

P2006 welcome back my old friend

I bought a new actuator shutter valve since in the past cleaning it along with air filter, throttle body and mag f sensor have fixed the rpm high revving and fluttering at idle but this time around it didn’t fix it. I think I need to replace the intake manifold runner control valve if it doesn’t resolve once the parts come in

sound when turning wheel stationary or low speeds.

Hey guys. Could this be worn out clock spring? CV-joints are fine, no leaking and covers are fine.

My Mazda 2 isn't accelerating smoothly

Hi, I’d like to get your opinion on how my car is behaving. When I shift into gear, or even when I just give it a little gas, it jerks slightly as it accelerates. It’s not really a violent jerk, but more of a steady oscillation during acceleration, which is pretty annoying.

It’s most noticeable in 1st and 2nd gear, and the higher the gear, the less you feel it, so it’s only bothersome when driving in the city.

I’ve included a video with several clips where you can see it; it’s not very noticeable visually (though you can feel it physically when accelerating), but you can hear it in the slightly high-pitched sound, which also fluctuates instead of being smooth and steady as I’d expect.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoMdHC63Gew

Does your Mazda do this too, or is this definitely abnormal? What could it be? I feel like the engine is running fine, so I’m thinking it’s something to do with the clutch or the transmission, but I don’t know much about that.

It’s a 2015 Mazda 2 with the 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G 115 hp engine. I’ve had it for less than a year; I’ve noticed this for a while now, but I think it was less noticeable at first.

Thank you!

Bought a used Mazda2 2018 Skyactiv sedan

I bought a Mazda2 2018 sedan.
It has about 43k mileage.
Good condition. It drove really well during my test drive(seller allowed me to take it on highway to really get a feel on the unit)
It’s well maintained(casa).

Any tips/suggestions on where to get it maintained around Cavite?
Thanks!

2015 Mazda 2 sedan occasional jerking during gear change.

my 2015 Mazda 2 sedan. During a hard acceleration. My check engine light started blinking and traction warning popped up. Few seconds before it happened my car experienced some jerking and after the lights popped. I couldn’t accelerate and my rpm wasn’t going up. After restarting my car back. Lights went off and everything was normal with some mild jerking. Workshop said car got no issue and even spark plugs are good.

Currently during my drive I’m experiencing some mild jerks on and off especially when gear changes. Anyone facing same problem?

Also I forgot to mention that I bought this car from a dealer 7 months ago with 3 years warranty (engine, transmission and cooling system). Brought my car to my known mechanic and he said the car is in good condition and said I have to change my fan belt.

After my 1st engine oil service, my car immediately started showing check engine light. When I asked the mechanic he told me that my O2 sensor got problem and told that it will resolve by its own because they washed my engine bay and the sensor couldve gotten wet.

I’ve noticed a pattern after that issue. My check engine light always pops up after a heavy rain and becomes normal after a hot day. Not sure if anyone experienced this issue. Any Mazda experts here in this forum that could help me.
