Finally got myself a Mazda 2

Finally got my hands on a Mazda 2, its the 1.5 with 103hp/76 kw. Got 167.990kms right now, last oil change ar 162.000 and its been taken care of, not leaking any fluids, not making and weird noises or anything. Is there anything I should do to prevent headaches in the future? Besides obvious the standart maintenance (fluid changes, spark plugs etc).

New code thrown

Hey gang. I started up my 2008 this morning and for the first time ever got a check engine light. I read the codes using a cheap obd2 scanner and it says its from the knock sensor.(P0328) any one that has had this issue in the past have some advice to deal with it?

Upgrade of my Mazda 2

Finally updated my car

I have been driving my Mazda 2 for 5 years but never bothered to take care of it until I thought of buying new car. I didn’t want to spend a lot for a new suv so I decided to work on it.

  1. Restored my headlights

(

  1. Cerakote)

  2. Installed better lights from Phillips

  3. Got an Apple CarPlay (Pioneer)

  4. Checked all fluids and battery

  5. Painted my hub caps

  6. New four tyres from Michelin xm2 plus

I love my car now.

6 months with DE 2011

Been with me for 6 months, clocked 160k km from 155k when I bought it. 1.5MT 2011

Replaced:
Master clutch cylinder (brake fluid leaked at pedal, it’s a headache). And it turned out the seal of clutch pipe was broken, fortunately can use VW 1K0798741 to fix.
Fuel pump, filter
Spark plugs, valve cover gasket (oil in spark plug hole).
Still has some misfiring and vibration so far.

On the list:
Steering gear
Suspension
Engine mount
Ignition coil (suspecting)
Tires

Cost me $$$ and time but still worth it. Very fun to drive with this baby Demio.

Overestimating?

This car always over estimates it range by 100 + km, I can assure u I did not drive 725km before it was empty, heck the E was blinking after 500km driving 😅 , I know its just an estimate but damn its off by alot.

Welcome meeeeee to the gang!

After two weeks urgently looking for a used car, we stumbled upon this Mazda 2. It's a 2015, with 33k miles on the clock, very clean MOT history and cost £7k — which feels like a lot for a decade-old car but c'est la vie.

Importantly, the Mazda 2 is cool as shit. Before seeing it I had resigned myself to something dull and boring. But this! What a nice looking car!

Tell me, what do I need to know? I'm already thinking about replacing the infotainment system and getting an arm rest. The seats aren't super comfy. Anything to improve that?

It also has such a cool reg that sounds like a slang goodbye.

What should I call it? Moochi the Mazda?

I'm aware the ZJ-VE is a ticky-sounding engine, but is this normal?

Android auto

Hi all,

I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for a car play system with a screen

Preferably not too expensive, I'm thinking of spending £100-£200 on it, and it'll have to come with a loom

I've attached a picture of my radio incase that's needed

EDIT:- Turns out I also need one that has the passenger airbag light on, as that's next to the warning hazard switch

Car Alarm Going Off Sporadically - 2009 Mazda 2 Sport

For about 2 weeks now my car alarm has been going off with no rhyme or reason at all. It doesn't stop when I use the button on the key to try and stop it. It doesn't stop when I start the engine, open the doors, manually unlock - anything. I actually don't know how I've managed to get it to stop the four or so times it happened.

I changed a blown indicator light which hasn't fixed it. Changed the battery in the key. I'm not sure what else to try? It's coming out of the boot and the only way I can guarantee it won't go off is to leave the car unlocked which is obviously far from ideal.

Any advice? Thank you!

Acquired today!

Drove home my new (to me) 2021 Mazda 2 Dynamic (mid spec) and am absolutely delighted.

What colour should I paint the calipers? I'm thinking yellow for the contrast against the blue

Mazda2 Seatbelt Misaligned

I wrote a very long post but reddit didn't like it and I can't be bothered to write it out again! Video below shows OH Mazda2 (2015) rear left (UK) seatbelt failing to retract. There is a flange on the sides of the spool, one side larger than other, and once the diameter of the rolled up belt surpasses the flange, it slips off and is pulled into the external frame. Friction stops it spooling further.

Curiously, on right side, the larger flange is on the side it is pulled towards, so rolled belt doesn't grow larger than flange, it doesn't slip off and it doesnt get stuck.

Questions:

- Is it possible to just flip the spool so the higher side is towards the direction the belt is pulled?

- Did mazda accidentally fit a right seatbelt to the left side?

- Did Mazda overlook this and duplicate a part assuming it would be fine on both sides? It is a pretty essential safety feature to get right!

Video of side that doesn't work attached.

2013 Canadian Market Rust

My mechanic says this rust is cosmetic. What do you think? Does anyone have rust in the same location? Can someone recommend a DIY repair?

2014 Mazda 2: Thicker oil for hot weather?

Hi. 2014 Mazda 2, 1.5L engine, 5-speed, about 100K miles. Owner's manual specifies 0W-20 full synthetic oil, which is what I've always used. (Not being a car guy, my strong inclination is to follow the owner's manual).

But I live in a hot climate (southern U.S.) and mostly drive on the highway. Occasionally very long trips.

So should I be thinking about using a 0W-30 or 10W-30 full synthetic instead during summer? Or should I just stick with following the manufacturer's instructions?

Thanks.

Mazda 3 -> Mazda 2 seat conversion

My 2016 Mazda 2 has the worst seats of all time and they kill my back so I’m looking at more comfortable ones but I’m wondering if anyone knows whether they’ll be able to connect to my current loom or not?

The first photo is the loom on the listed seats, and the second photo is my loom. Any help would be massively appreciated

Perhaps an odd audio question

I have a 2011 US version (is that DE?), and I've been considering upgrading my stereo so that it doesn't keep cutting out. I know everyone suggests getting a random android one or whatever... but here's the thing, I use CDs and an iPod. So I would really love any advice on (perhaps older) units that support those two features. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

DDM Short Shifter/Bearings and the 2014 model

I was thinking about picking these up, but their website says 2011-2013 only, any shot that it'll work on a 2014 anyway?
