Legendary Montreal music venue Divan Orange to reopen for 3 shows in September

The legendary Montreal music venue Divan Orange will reopen for three special shows in September.

Plants and Animals are among the bands who’ll be playing at the bar’s original location (4234 St-Laurent Boulevard) during the POP Montreal festival, which runs from Sept. 23 to 27, 2026. POP Montreal announced the news today, along with the lineup for their 25th anniversary edition.

Divan Orange closed in 2018 “due to its precarious financial situation” following years of paying fines for noise complaints made by a neighbour.

VICTORIES - C U L8R (alligator) - YouTube

Hey everyone,

I play bass in a Montreal band called Victories. We just put out a new track today called "C U L8R (Alligator)" and wanted to drop it here to see what you think.

Since it’s Mental Health Awareness Month, the timing felt right to share this one. It’s a steady, mid-tempo 96 BPM groove about dealing with depression and the isolation that comes with it. Specifically, it's about that heavy guilt you feel when you pull a disappearing act and start ghosting your partner, your friends, or your family because you just don't have the energy to exist.

The bridge lyric is the core of the song:

"I'm sorry if I'm not myself / I couldn't be somebody else."

It's essentially the conversation you wish you could have before you completely shut people out. It's for those heavy weekends where you can't force yourself out of bed, you let the texts pile up unanswered, and you feel like a ghost to the people around you while you're just trying to survive the day.

If you’ve ever felt like you were letting people down by disappearing, or if you're currently isolating and trying to navigate a rough patch, I hope this hits home. Surviving is winning.

Let me know what you think of the bridge if you give it a listen.

Hey my band GoldPeach is looking 4 a Bassist.

Hey y'all my band GoldPeach is a fully-improvised prog rock, Experimental, shoegaze-y, lo-fi band in the vein of Frank Zappa with a twist of lime!

We are looking for a bassist who can easily improvise and change up his game on a whim and get crazy with us. We have already relased 3 albums independently on Bandcamp and Youtube. We are currently working on our 4th album. We also want to do crazy shows live and dress up N' be weird.

Thanks!!
