The game is actually great
Finally got a chance to bust it out to a few people and play, and well.. It’s very fun.
I mean like, it’s damn good. I was with my girlfriend who’s been learning to playing magic and her younger brother who has no tcg experience at all.
We were just hanging out after giving him a ride home from a concert and I pulled out the deck and asked if they wanted to play.
The rules were simple enough but the game can be very tricky. It’s pretty fast too but with enough strategy to keep you engage and constantly changing board. The whole them of moods is actually pretty fun to play around, and even the mechanic of choosing the first player by who felt the most recent mood on the bottom of the deck is a small but fun little thing to do.
This game has sequencing, thinking turns ahead, and even light removal and card interaction. It’s literally like they took the flavor of magic and watered it down, but in a way that actually didn’t make it worse.
The non magic player even remarked on the interesting art… which further proves that using magic art was a smart idea, because you know, it’s cool fucking art.
I really hope this game gains its footing because I really think it’s good and absolutely can create some new magic players as well.
