Jacana powerbill

Can someone explain why the new electronic meter makes my bills higher.

I'd pay <$400 in a span of 3 months. Now I'm paying >$200 in a span of a month. No difference in usage at home and I am highly conservative of my power usage.

They seem to be using the new meter as an excuse to charge people more for the power bill.

Thank you.

Saw this floating around and figured I’d share because petrol prices are crazy right now and free money is free money 😂

ING are currently offering anyone who signs up before May 31st a $100 bonus. No catches other than doing a few easy things once your account’s open. Here’s the breakdown:

  1. Use the following link to sign up - Link here
  2. Deposit $1000 (you can transfer out once you receive your $100 bonus)
  3. Make 5 purchases - Just use the card you get sent on your weekly shopping (split the transaction into 5 payments at checkout)
  4. Open a savings maximiser account and deposit $1 into it (you can do this straight away once you sign up they walk you through everything)

Then you just sit back and wait for ING to drop that $100 straight into your account. You can transfer it to your main bank, or spend it with the ING card, up to you.

Took me less than 10 minutes to do everything and it’s one of the easiest bonuses I’ve seen. Longest part is waiting for the card to arrive but once you have it you can just use it with your regular shopping for 1 week.

What are the roads like in Arnhem Land?

I've been offered a 12 month secondment somewhere in Arnhem Land. I don't know anything about the area, I'm told I'll be about 3.5 hours east of Darwin. The job comes with a 4WD. So that will be my transport most of the time. But do they have normal roads? I'm trying to work out whether I ship my GTR up, or put it in storage.

How do you think the CLP is doing so far?

Well it's been around a year and a half since the last NT election, how good do you think the CLP has done at governing? What have they done well and what have they done poorly? Personally I didn't vote for the CLP and I don't think they have done a good job. I know reddit leans left so this probably isn't an accurate representation of the general population but oh well. Curious to know what you guys think and why, cheers
