Possible smaller Indie theater/venues that would screen a mid length indie film (56 minutes)

Hello Reddit, I am finishing up a mid length film. I’ve been working on with my good friend and was thinking of maybe doing small screenings throughout New York. As the title says, it is a mid length film 56 minutes in length so while it is not a full movie, it is at least an hour long event. So if anyone could recommend good places to contact about possibly doing screenings in September. I am willing to pay, but overall, I’m just curious how this process would work

Italian filmmaker in NYC — looking to join film sets 🎬

Hi everyone! I’m Francesco, an Italian film director currently in New York City.

I’ve directed and worked on several film and animation projects in Italy, and I’m currently going through a transition from animation to live action. I’d love to get to know the NYC film scene from the inside and, most importantly, meet other filmmakers and people working in the industry.

I’m available to help out on any kind of film/TV set/short/student film, in whatever role might be useful — production, art department, assisting, or simply doing whatever needs to be done. I’m not looking for a specific position; I’m looking for experience, connections and the opportunity to learn.

Even if you’re not looking for crew right now, I’d be happy just to meet, exchange contacts and connect with other filmmakers in NYC.

If you’re working on a project or know someone who might need an extra pair of hands, feel free to DM me!

Thanks! 🎥

Looking to work on a film set

Hey guys! I’m looking to work on a film set as an extra set of hands for any purpose. I’m not really seeking any payment either. I have experience with editing (Davinci Resolve) and am currently a photographer. I also have experience writing screenplays however without any major credits. The size of the film doesn’t matter, I’d just like to gain some experience.

No adult media.

Keep my husband company at our US Premiere of Watch Me tonight at Film Noir Cinema Greenpoint , Brooklyn 7pm

Hi all, my husband and business partner, Ivan, has flown from Europe to NYC for the US premiere of our film Watch Me. It would mean a lot to me if some of our fellow cinephiles in wonderful NYC joined him in the eclectic gem of a cinema that is Film Noir in Greenpoint this evening from 7 pm to make his night really special.

In return, you get to visit a really cool cinema, hear an Australian accent and experience a film that is relatable, bold and provocative, exploring online intimacy, fandom culture and the boundaries we must create for ourselves when pushed to our limits.

In an online world Isla has created to escape her reality, will logging on mean losing herself, and how much is she willing to pay?

Tickets through Eventbrite or at the cinema (cash only)

A screenwriter who didn't give up until she reached two producers

Hello everyone! I’m back again.

Who said failure means the death of hope?

A new day, a new determination, and a renewed hope that will never end… not until I see my dreams become reality.

But this time, things will be different.

It won’t be a story born entirely from imagination. It won’t be a horror story that makes the audience look over their shoulder. And it certainly won’t be a romance that makes them smile… haha!

This time, my story is inspired by a real case that captured public attention and evolved from a mysterious death into one of the most widely discussed and debated cases.

A young, beautiful, and seemingly ordinary woman who lived her life with dignity, resilience, strength, and determination.

Then, one day, the world woke up to the news of her death.

The initial explanation was suicide.

But does the story end there?

Absolutely not.

Because the question was no longer simply, “What happened?”

It became:

“Was the official explanation the whole truth?”

Questions began to emerge about the circumstances surrounding her death, the evidence, and the investigation itself. As the case spread, public opinion became deeply divided between those who believed the evidence had answered the questions and those who continued to demand clearer answers.

Eventually, the story crossed borders and attracted attention far beyond where it began, becoming a case followed and discussed by people in different countries.

But I didn’t see just a case.

I saw a story.

A story about truth, doubt, memory, unanswered questions, and the things people continue to search for even after a case is officially closed.

Did I believe that the story was simply a suicide?

No.

But I’m not here to prove the opposite.

I want to explore the questions through cinema.

So, where am I going with this?

I want to write this screenplay.

And this time, I believe I can transform a case that raised thousands of questions into a psychological mystery that makes the audience search for the truth alongside the characters.

Wish me luck, my friends.

And I wish you luck with every dream you’re trying to turn into reality.

See you soon. 🎬
