Career advice
I passed Class 12 in 2023 and took a drop for JEE, but things did not work out. I joined IUST Awantipora for B.Tech in Robotics and Automation and am currently in the 4th semester. However, IUST feels like a hometown tier-3 college with limited placements, low exposure, weak industry connections, and a school-like environment. Due to academic and personal struggles, I now have backlogs and re-registered subjects, and I often feel that I am wasting my parents' money and breaking their trust.
Last year, I also got admission to a Bengaluru college through COMEDK, but the fees were too high, so I could not join.
Now I have an opportunity to join B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science at Jamia Millia Islamia, which offers better exposure and opportunities, but it would mean starting again and graduating later. I am confused between continuing at IUST and saving time or choosing JMI for better long-term prospects.
Salam. KU/IUST or Ashoka?
Mye kartew thoda guide. Be chas akh middle class family pyath. Either I hv to go for a financed seat for engineering (CS) at IUST or KU or I could go to Ashoka. One of my friends says I have a good chance of getting into Ashoka since my interview went really well…and they told me they would prefer I join the uni….but engineering is something I yk kind of wanted. Not as much though now kyazki everyone says IUST/KU khote asal chi bye kanh uni… Ashoka would probably give me financiaal aid too (I qualify for 100% fin aid)…. Tith paeth aasi myon annual expenditure approx 50-60k. I know I will get a humanities degree from Ashoka but everyone keeps saying itz better than the other two…im thinking of studying finance and cs (bsc) at Ashoka.
This was my gap year te be aeses neet khaetri paran magar neet che ne myon interest kyenh.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
