In the olden days of the previous site, there was a short time where instead of importing a video, they would import a pointer (m3u8 link) to the video. You could put the pointer link into VLC or mpv video players and it would stream the video directly from the Patreon source. The pointer size was <1kb.

The downside is a constantly changing "key" that bricked the link until it was re-imported, users would flag content for re-import in the same way they do now.

But there would be several days of the m3u8 link being functional, and during that time it was relatively seamless, just an extra step for the end-user.

Is this functionality returning to Pawchive a possibility? Maybe exclusive to reaction channels since they're putting so much stress on the service?

Some of the creators I follow have disappeared from the site. Yesterday everything was fine, but now there are no posts, just the "Nobody here but us chickens!"-message. I can't even find them using the search. Meesh & Dee, Boldcast, Sailor Kayla, Haylo & Kiss and Omn1Media, just to name a few. I wonder what's going on there?

I literally watching one reaction channel with watch along links on youtube and now it's gone, very unpleasent morning.

Anybody knows removed channels will return in the future or they gone forever?

There is a lot of creators whose zip files are password protected and I can't find the password anywhere example "Shirobako88" so any help in this matter?

Does anyone know what it means

I'm a K site orphan like many, but I have a couple of questions regarding pawchive's development:

1. Will there be a profile/post favorites importer? I wanna have my faves from K site if possible

2. Will there be an update to import newer patreon features such as the collections tab or just having the pinned post on top?

3. Discord importer soon perhaps?

4. Can post search be ordered by post date and not import date? More search filters around the site would be great

Also, there are 2 pawchive communities on reddit. Which one's the real one exactly? That will be all. Thank you

Bonus: are we able to contribute via donations for the site's upkeep?

One of the announcements says that Fan card support has been added, but when I look up for some that have pws locked behind fancards there's none yet.

Does it need some more time for them to be properly added and shown in the site, or should they be manually added again somehow by the person that imported a creator before?

To all the people who have made sacrifices and imported content, we will forever be grateful to you and your contributions will be remembered with gratitude. May more souls find the means and heart to import more content and fill the void in this monotone world. WE LOVE YOU IMPORTERS

I've opened the website and searched by update date and I've noticed that the first page is all from pixiv fanbox, so is there a problem with Patreon or is it just a coincidence?

Edit: the problem is fixed now, it seemed that importing in general has stopped working from 13:00 and forward then at 20:00 it all came flooding with 10 pages worth of new updated artists

"Some files exceed the archive size limit and weren't saved" has appeared on some zip folders I wanna download, which surprised me.

English isn't my first language, will there be a way to view these zip folders at a later date or am I just stuck unable to access these files?

And i want to ask on how to "safely" import from fanbox to here again,
like do i need a certain VPN or maybe connected into japanese VPN, or what?
i do want to import again to pawchive for archiving the creator i supported, but i want to minimize the risk of my other account got banned like my first one

So I imported a creator by the name of Aliciaxlife and it seems it didn't go through for some reason. The messages recieved is "skipping creator 'aliciaxlife' (7463927) - blacklisted from import." Why is this?

Ok, so I know Maplestar deletes the videos on Dropbox to protect them from getting leaked with every new video but what happens after? Do they bring them back later, and if so do the pages have to be updated?

Can't the file size limit be removed?

I love the website, but there's a lot of archives that stay password protected and the passwords themselves are locked behind other 3rd party apps, discord being the most famous one.

A little bit before going to shit, the og site added a feature where the archives could be previewed and their passwords were displayed with them, would be wonderful if this feature could be added to pawchive.

Most of the Maplestar video links on Pawchive say they're deleted, I think they need to get updated or something.

Simply put, the ads are merely symptomatic of the larger issue Pawchive is facing: Keeping the lights on. These ads, despite their annoyance, are merely paying for the bare minimum. If we want to install and maintain any new installers (Discord, SubStar, Boosty, etc.) we NEED to start pitching in. Even if a couple dozen people reading this donated a dollar, we could start allowing this site to flourish in a big way. Until something like that happens though, we're going to be stuck with ad redirects and barren options for site scraping in the near future.
