What now that undocumented students won't be able to attend?

I do know that obviously I will have to sit and wait until the ban gets lifted. I got wind of the news today and couldn't believe it. So much effort, even dual enrollment and early admission, applying for scholarships and preping down the drain. I am sure I am not elegible so there is really not room to fight for.

Tbh I am probably just posting this to bent and maybe empathize if anyone is in the same boat. And see if anyone has any miraculously good news of "well x group is suing and that won't likely last long."

IDK.

ARE YOU AWARE OF THE 2027 EXPRESS COURSE INITIATE?!

Hi everyone, I don’t know if you are all aware of this since the college is not/has not sent out announcements regarding it. Starting in Spring 2027, ALL programs, will switch to 50% Express classes. They are taking the 15 week courses and making them 7.5 weeks. The Express classes will take place TWICE a week and you have no choice in the matter. Same work load. You have no choice to take a 12 week or full term course. You will be forced to take 50% of your courses as Express. For 2027-2028 courses, 75% of your classes will be Express.

https://www.pbsc.edu/academics/express-course-initiative.php

This will cause great stress for students who work full time, have children and don’t learn well in short periods of time.

This initiative was forced into effect by the President of PBSC.

Thought everyone should be aware.

Should I accept the PBSC Presidential Honors College Scholarship?

Hey, I got selected for the Presidential Honors College Scholarship at Palm Beach State, and I’m trying to figure out if I should accept it or wait to see if I get the Green & Gold one.

The Presidential one covers tuition, fees, and books (up to 12 credits per semester), but the requirements are: 3.5 GPA requirement, 12 honors credits, 20 co-curricular points, Honors classes + extra stuff for the program.

The Green & Gold is: 3.2 GPA requirement. About half the money. No honors program requirements

My main worry is honestly the honors classes. I don’t really know how much harder they are or if they’re just more work/writing. I’m trying to keep my GPA solid since I want to transfer later.

If anyone’s been in PBSC Honors: Are the honors classes actually hard or just more workload? Is the program worth it? Did it feel overwhelming at all with GPA + requirements? Would you take the Presidential again or go with a simpler scholarship?

Just trying to make the right decision before I accept anything. Appreciate any advice.

Questions about the "Pay Less Fees!" task to prove Florida residency for tuition purposes.

Some time ago, I received the "Pay Less Fees!" task, inquiring if I qualify as a Florida resident for tuition purposes. I am not sure what or how to answer.

Are there any resources I can contact for assistance filling it out? In the Financial Aid Office, for example. If so, do you know how I can make an appointment?

Does anyone have any experience or advice on filling it?

The task was due back in May. I am quite late in filling it. Will that cause me any major trouble?
