I instaled Pear OS 8 on my laptop And not many Apps where working si i am wandering if there is any way to update it to latest version of Ubuntu or what Is it based on?

I am restoring an iMac G5 from 2004 and I want it to run something modern without any hardware modifications and able to connect to the modern internet.

Hello I have been trying to install pearos 26.8 but I can't because when I tried to boot into it is giving warning self volume not found so what I did was that I remove Rufus used ventoy it still doesn't work it's been over 5isos I downloaded it didn't work please pearos fix this and till then does anybody have pearos 26.6 iso I'll use it since new release comes
