Is 2.5 HP AC overkill for a 4.5 x 4 room?

Mom bought 2.5HP carrier nexus split type AC.

Price too good to be true?

We went to different appliance stores to inquire for Carrier Aura Split-type 1.5HP unit. These are Cash payment prices.

SM Appliance Store – ₱39,565 + ₱8,000 installation fee

Aircon Direct Supplier – ₱39,000 with free installation

Locally Known Appliance Store – ₱26,700 + ₱7,500 installation fee

Is the last one a steal or a red flag?

Need recommendation for a split type AC 1.0 to 1.5 HP

Hello! Need recommendations for a split-type aircon.

I’m from Cebu and ang pinaka-priority ko talaga is reliable after-sales service and trusted brand. Budget ko is around 20k to 35k. Planning to buy around last week of May.

Sa mga may split-type AC jan na nabili months or years ago, kamusta experience nyo so far? Any brands/models you would personally recommend or avoid? Thanks!

Any recommendation for Air Cooler

Hello. Planning to buy an air cooler po for my mom. Yung magandang quality pero affordable po sana. Also yung tipid sa kuryente. Inverter as much as possible. Can you recommend a brand and provide me the specs of it? Based on your experience po, how much ang itataas nyan sa kuryente if ever. Budget is 2k-3k. Thank you so much po.

Our bill now is 4,800 na sa tingin ko hindi makatarungan. We are currently using .6hp Midea non inverter, ON ng 12noon-5pm and 8pm -3am. Hindi pa ganun kalamig ang kwarto na 9sqm,3 people at walang ibang appliances sa room..just 2 beds and a cabinet. We are using 1L rice cooker once a day, 8cubic inverter ref, 8kg AWM 3x a week then electric fans and lights lang..bihira gamitin ang ibang appliances. Please recommend me yung subok nyo na. I'm thinking of .8hp Midea Qube. Thanks.

AC Reco Midea vs Carrier

Hey guys I need your opinion. So I have a 5mx5mx10ft (25sqm) room. I'm choosing between the Midea Celest 2.5hp and the Carrier Nexus 2.0hp. Should I go for brand reliability or horsepower? Is 2.0hp undersized or is 2.5 oversized for the room?

Please help

Portable Aircon recommendation please

Thank you!!

Automatic Washing Machine reco?

I am planning to get an automatic washing machine via home credit as a gift to my Mother for her birthday this May 22. Prefer ko yung mura lang and 7.5kg to 8kg capacity.

Nag inquire ako sa ABENSON, if Panasonic and Condura may interest. if 6 months to pay, 4k ang dagdag, if 12 months to pay, 8k ang dagdag daw, ayaw ko naman nun at ayaw ko mabigatan sa babayaran monthly. Panasonic pa naman sana gusto ko.

Ask lang sana ako ng recommendation sa inyo, what other brands na mura ang okay? Nakita ko yung Haier is mura but not sure if okay ba.

Thanks in advance!

best for small room, inverter or window type

For context around 8sqm lang yung room then may window na direct sunlight. Do you guys think na okay na 0.5hp?? And ano ba mas okay based sa laki ng room if mag window type na lang ba or split type. Tho wala naman problem sa pagbutas ng wall if ever split type and kung dun na lang ba sa bintana ilagay if ever na window type

I need help because Im very confused in AC units now idk what to get

Hi! This is me adulting for the first time and I need AC advice 😭

One of the MOST important things for me is electricity cost efficiency. I’m okay with paying more upfront for a good inverter AC because I can save up for it little by little, including installation and other costs. What I’m more worried about is the MONTHLY electric bill. I really don’t want an extra ₱3k+ monthly bill because I already have other expenses to think about. Ideally, I want something that would maybe only add around ₱1k–₱1.5k monthly if possible.

My room is REALLY small. It’s an attic-style room with a slanted ceiling, and the ceiling also isn’t very high. It does get warm in the afternoon, but not “super oven hot” because the walls are concrete and the ceiling seems insulated naman.

I work from home, so I’m almost always inside my room. My setup is very minimal:

laptop

monitor

tablet

phone charging That’s basically it.

I originally wanted the Carrier Aura Split Type Inverter Price: ₱39,800.00 because I like the eco/smart features (like sensors, timers, sleep mode, etc.). I also like the idea of it automatically adjusting power once the room is already cool.

BUT my problem is:

split-type units look physically big

my ceiling is slanted

I honestly don’t know where to place it

I’m worried a 1 HP unit might be overkill for my tiny room

My sister recently bought a 1 HP inverter AC for her room, but her room is literally around 3–4x bigger than mine, and she told me I could probably survive with just 0.5 HP.

For context:

My room is around 6–9 sqm with a slanted attic ceiling.

I don’t like freezing cold rooms

I prefer “comfortable cool”

I’ll probably keep the AC on most of the day because I work from home

but I plan to use timers/sleep mode at night

maybe something like auto-off around 1 AM then back on around morning

I honestly don’t know the difference anymore between:

split type inverter

window inverter

what HP is actually enough for my room

Would really appreciate advice from people who have tiny rooms or attic rooms 😭

Main priorities:

Low monthly electricity bill

Comfortable cooling, not super freezing

Good inverter efficiency for long daily use

Something practical for a very small attic-style room
