Best PSP base for IPS + USB-C + bigger battery? Physical games, unsure about CFW
Want to build a nice PSP to play my old UMDs on, plus some secondhand pickups. Planned: IPS screen, USB-C, bigger battery, new shell. UMD drive stays in. Leaning 3000 mainly because of the extra ram, but not sure if I'm missing something, is there a reason to go 2000 instead once the stock screen is coming out anyway?
Also: worth running CFW just to dump my own discs to the memory card and save the drive from wear, or is that overkill if I'm happy loading UMDs? Ik hesist about this because I notice when I have too much games to my proposal (eg. In a loaded RetroPie) I don't have the patience to play anything anymore. So I think I want to do the physical act of putting a game in. (Hopefully someone gets this😅)
I do have my old PSP-1000 but it's got nostalgic value so I'm hesitant to mod that one, figured I'd buy a separate unit to work on. Unless people think the 1000 is a better base and I should get over it?
Cheers.
