Wayfarer Pass or Trash

I have a question regarding the authenticity of these old Ray-Ban Wayfarers. They are honestly a beautiful pair of glasses with quite a bit of history behind them (they belonged to an important person in the art world) and eventually ended up in my father’s hands.

The problem arose when I checked the code on the inside of the right temple, which reads “L2008 XRAW.” I haven’t been able to find any reference or information that confirms the authenticity of this code, which makes me wonder whether they might not be genuine.

However, according to my father, the person who gave them to him — this important figure from the art world — said that he had received them after being invited to a Ray-Ban event where this model was being presented, sometime around the early 1980s, although I’m not entirely sure about the exact date.

I’m not very knowledgeable about vintage sunglasses, so I would really appreciate it if anyone with experience and a passion for this subject could help clear up my doubts.

Thank you very much!

Rotating logo on the Wayfarer

I just got these Wayfarer's off Amevista, Rome. Not even 15 days into using them, both the side logos started rotating off place. Is this normal? Should I do anything to keep them in place?

PS.: It seems 8 days have gone by since I got them so they're not eligible for return..

Anniversary Limited Edition Havana frame is lovely.

I customized a classic wayfarer using the Ran Ban website. This is the RB engraved havana frame with a blue/grey lens. I’m in love with how these came out!

I almost bought Rayban Metas

I almost bought RaybanMeta glasses from sunglass hut last week but decided to not buy since I learnt something crazy and thought of sharing it.

I was told that Meta does not provide ANY warranty on the meta sunglasses and I would have to buy additionally warranty for around $80/ year. AND this warranty will enable me to replace the already bought meta glasses after paying 50% price of the new glasses if any issue arises.

Read the above again. This is so crazy.

Here is what I understand,

I'm buying a piece of electronics sunglasses which does not come with any basic manufacturer warranty. So my exact words were " If I buy these sun glasses and god forbid if the camera stops working or AI doesn't respond or speaker has some problem, (basically any defects due to manufacturing and in electronics) there is no help or support to fix or replace the defective product UNLESS I have bought warranty only during my purchase of the glasses by paying extra money. And the sales guy there confirmed infact that is true. They told me Meta does not take any responsibility of warranty or ensuring customer gets the best product and it relies on Rayban. But Rayban manufacturer Luxotica also does not provide a clear warranty policy.

Representative was not able to help me understand clearly terms of warranty.

I was excited about the Gen2 but now at this point I feel it could be an expensive (~$500) toy.

Am I overthinking this?

Help identifying this Ray-Ban model from around 2005–2008

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to identify the exact Ray-Ban model in these two old photos. These were the favorites of my father, but have been stolen recently.

The sunglasses were most likely bought/worn around 2005–2008.
Unfortunately, these are the only photos I have.

Does anyone recognize the exact RB model number?

Thanks a lot

Adjustable arms on new Optics models

So one complaint I had with the new Optics range was that because of the new hinge system they felt loose on my head compared to Wayfarers. Those just had the perfect grip for my head but we're too right for a lot of people and in some cases leading to cracks. I just realised after some reading that the Optics range can be adjusted with a slight pressure like regular glasses. So now both pairs of Blayzers are the perfect fit! Just something I thought I'd let you know when considering purchasing these.

Identifying glasses

Hey this is a longshot but I recently got back from a holiday to turkey where I bought my first pair of raybans (for clarification purposes, they are 100% fake but I wanted to see if I liked them before diving in full price). Turns out I absolutely LOVED them, like best glasses I've ever had. Only issue is they got lost on the way back to the UK and I now cannot find the exact ones online anywhere. Anyone know exactly what glasses these are if they are based on a real model? They had an orangeish tint to the lenses and the bit that goes behind the ears had red at the tips. Any information would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Vintage Bausch & Lomb Wayfarers. Anyone know what lense?

I just picked these up off eBay and pretty sure they are from the early 80s. The lenses are in great shape, I was surprised how mirrored they look. Any idea what lenses they are? B15? I can hardly find any examples of older Wayfarers with brown lenses. Appreciate any knowledge.

Are these aviators legit?

Recently bought some aviators from Sunglass Hut, though stupidly lost them a couple weeks later. I'd also regretted not getting polarised at the time, so in ordering a replacement saw a good deal on Secret Sales for a polarised version... though I'm now doubting their legitimacy. My problem is that in some ways, the new case looks more legit than the old one - from what I've read, the gold printing on the side looks clearer, the logo looks more aligned 7-2 o clock than the Sunglass Hut... but surely those have to be legit?

Everything else seems OK, but the more I look at the RB engraving on the glasses it doesn't seem as sharp as I'd maybe expect plus the logo on the cloths are different, but the packaging's QR code points to a unique reference. What gives?

What model or rayban is this?

I owned these glasses forever until someone broke into my car and stole them. They look like clubmasters but they had no metal sound the lower lense. The ear stems were a very thin metal too. I miss them so much and can’t find them. Help!!

Erika Sunglasses - Replacement Screw

Hi there. Does anyone know where I can get replacement screws for the arm of my Erika sunglasses? I called my local Ray Ban shop asking if they would repair them for me. They said they don't stock the screws but if I buy a screw online they'll replace it for free for me. The only thing is, I can't find anywhere setting that part (official or otherwise). I'm based in Ireland so any EU or UK site would be ideal. Thanks!
