random shots during the heat wave

Just some random shots during the tail end of the historic heat wave. Love that the GRiiix can easily be carried in my almost naked lightweight gym shorts pockets plus t-shirt outfit with zero drama. Given I had the kids in tow, the GRiiix and old iPhone did 99% of the heavy lifting and my Zf with pancake lens combo was often left in the hotel room. Sorry about the excessive adjustments done in post, but it's my way of capturing how I felt at the time.

Testing the limits of the Ricoh GR IIIx: Low light & harsh, rainy weather in Hong Kong harbor [SOOC / RAW]

Hey everyone,

Wanted to share a few straight-out-of-camera RAW shots from a brutal night at Victoria Harbour. It was pouring, thick with fog, and incredibly humid.
I’m blown away by how this tiny sensor handled extreme low light and terrible visibility without losing detail or blowing out the city lights.

•image.png & image_5.png**:** Captured the low clouds physically swallowing the IFC tower while keeping the neon signs crisp across the water.

•image_2.png & image_3.png**:** Handled the high-contrast LED strips on the boats perfectly, preserving the dark, choppy textures of the harbor.

•image_4.png**:** My favorite shot. You can literally see the sheets of rain illuminated by the junk boat's golden spotlight.

👉 You can see how I edited these photos to bring out the cinematic mood on my Instagram here!

Settings & Weather Note:
Shutter speeds hovered around 1/40 to 1/80 at f/2.8. ISO ranged from 200 to 1600. I used an umbrella to block the direct downpour, but the intense mist and humidity actually helped diffuse the light for that organic, cinematic glow.

Let me know what you think!

IIIx at the World Cup - Türkiye vs Paraguay

Fun time capturing the energy and passion of the World Cup at Levi’s Stadium. I believe I was using Bennett’s 800, but it made the reds look orange, so tried fixing it in Lightroom.

No issues bringing my camera into the stadium.
