[Online] [D&D 5e 2014 or 5.5e 2024] Two players (23F & 26M) looking for GM and/or group

Hello! My friend (26M, forever GM) and I (23F, player for 1.5y) are looking to join a D&D campaign! Both of us prefer to join a new campaign over one that’s been running for a while. We are interested in groups that are for adults only.

We are not attached to any specific character concepts, and prefer to make characters that fit into the world we are joining. We both enjoy high fantasy, LotR type stuff, but definitely open to other things. Ideally would like to play long-term.

We both have Discord for voice. Strongly prefer Roll20 for VTT.

[DnD 5e][Thursdays @ 7pm est][Homebrew][Long Term][2014-24][Online]

TWO ADVENTURERS WANTED: ENTER RUNE HOLLOW

System: D&D 5e

Setting: Homebrew Fantasy World

Openings: 2 Players

Experience: Experienced Players Preferred

Welcome to Rune Hollow

Rune Hollow is a massive homebrew D&D world built around political conflict, ancient magic, dangerous factions, powerful religions, exploration, and player-driven storytelling.

This is a world where kingdoms rise behind impossible walls, queens compete for the future of empires, assassins hunt corrupt nobles, cults serve the embodiments of the Seven Deadly Sins, adventuring guilds send heroes after monsters and forgotten treasures, and ancient artifacts left behind by gods can change the course of history.

From the towering anti-magic walls of Val'Thaelen, capital of the Alora Kingdom, to the divided lands of the Eldarian Empire, Rune Hollow is filled with cities, nations, cultures, organizations, religions, and conflicts that have been built specifically for this setting.

The world is populated by humans, dwarves, halflings, gnomes, tritons, goliaths, warforged, aasimar, beast races, and countless others, each with their own place in the world's history.

Magic is everywhere, but power always comes with consequences.

You might uncover relics from forgotten holy wars, become entangled in the politics of Eldaria's Four Crowns, join an adventuring guild, hunt the leaders of forbidden cults, cross paths with secret assassin organizations like The Shepards and The Blood Hand, explore ancient ruins, fight monsters for coin, or become involved in conflicts much larger than your original adventure.

Rune Hollow is not a world waiting for the heroes to arrive.

It is already moving.

The question is what happens when your character becomes part of it.

WHO I'M LOOKING FOR

I'm looking for two players who genuinely enjoy getting into character and becoming part of a long-running world.

I'm specifically looking for players with:

Strong roleplaying capabilities

You don't need to be a professional voice actor, but I want players who can think and make decisions as their characters, interact with NPCs, and contribute to meaningful character moments.

A good amount of D&D 5e experience

You should already have a solid understanding of how 5e works. You don't need to know every rule in the book, but this probably isn't the best campaign for someone playing D&D for the very first time.

Interest in lore and worldbuilding

Rune Hollow has a LOT of established lore. You aren't expected to memorize it, but players who enjoy discovering history, factions, religions, politics, locations, and mysteries will have plenty to sink their teeth into.

Characters with personality

I want characters with motivations, flaws, beliefs, relationships, fears, ambitions, and reasons to adventure. Your backstory doesn't need to be a novel. I would much rather have a character who feels alive.

Team-oriented play

This is a cooperative game. Your character can disagree with the party, have secrets, or make questionable decisions, but everyone at the table should ultimately be here to create a great story together.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect a campaign where your choices matter.

NPCs can become allies or enemies. Factions can remember what you've done. Political situations can change. Characters can gain reputations. Mysteries may remain undiscovered if nobody searches for them.

This world is a multi-campaign sandbox. This means that what you do in your campaign can affect the trajectory of the other 4+ campaigns. Burned down a town? Cool! Now no one gets the town. Killed the king of an empire? Great! Now everyone else will feel the consequences of your actions.

There will be dangerous combat and monsters to hunt, but Rune Hollow is much more than moving from one fight to the next.

Custom mechanics are included such as: crafting, expanded exhaustion system, guild ranks, and much more…

Roleplay, exploration, investigation, character development, faction relationships, politics, religion, magic, and the consequences of your decisions are all major parts of the world.

If you're the type of player who sees a mysterious organization mentioned once and immediately thinks:

"I need to know what the hell those guys are doing."

You'll probably fit right in.

INTERESTED IN JOINING?

The best way to reach me is through Discord.

Discord: Kroh

After I add you back, message me, tell me a little about yourself, how long you've been playing D&D 5e, what kind of characters you enjoy playing, and what you're looking for in a campaign.

I'm only looking to add two players, and finding people who fit well with the group is more important to me than simply filling the seats.

Your story in Rune Hollow hasn't been written yet.

Come change the world.

21+ please!

EDIT 3: Folks, I understand if this game ad doesn't do it for you, but there are in fact potential players & potential GMs who are interested in a table that has passion for specific ideas whilst still being flexible. If you don't want to play, that's fine, but please don't comment or use the google forms to complain, ask that we swap to paid, suggest we play GM-less, etc. That's not what this post is for. Please be respectful & kind. Ban evasion is not appreciated, either.

[Online][5e][Zoom][Roll20][18+] Experienced player NEW DM Looking for 4–5 Players — New & Experienced Welcome

Looking for 4–5 players for a new D&D 5e campaign played online via Zoom, with Roll20/D&D Beyond and whatever other tools make the game easier and more fun.

I’m 49 and have been playing D&D for about 40 years. But this will be my first attempt at DMing. I’m looking to put together a fun, relaxed group where people actually enjoy hanging out as well as playing.

🐉 The Game
D&D 5e
Online via Zoom
Roll20 / D&D Beyond for maps, characters, dice, etc.

New players absolutely welcome
Experienced players welcome
Pregenerated characters available if you’d rather jump right in
Or we’ll create characters together

Campaign style: collaborative, story-driven D&D with plenty of room for player shenanigans
I’m aiming for 4–5 players

TUESDAY NiGHTS 5p PST
Sessions approximately [2.5–3 hours]
Free to play

👥 Who I’m Looking For
Honestly, pretty much anyone who is respectful, reliable, and wants to have fun.

Men, women, couples, longtime players, complete beginners—all welcome.
I’m 49 myself, so I’d particularly enjoy having some 30+ players who remember when D&D books were actually books and not apps. 😂

That said, I’m not looking to create an exclusive old-person club. If you’re an adult who’s younger than 30 and think we’d be a good fit, you’re welcome too.
Old-ass players especially encouraged. If you’ve been rolling dice since the 80s/90s, you are among your people here.

🎲 What I’m Hoping For
I’d like this to be a group where:
We don’t take ourselves too seriously.
Everyone gets a chance to shine.
New players can ask questions without feeling stupid.
Experienced players don’t dominate the table.
We can roleplay without being embarrassed about it… or not!
We can laugh when things go horribly wrong.
People actually show up when they say they’re going to.
We’re interested in making a campaign together rather than just grinding encounters.
I’m also completely fine with people who aren’t professional voice actors, don’t have elaborate cosplay, and occasionally forget which die is which. 😄

🖥️** Online Setu**p
I’ll handle the DM side and use the various online tools available to make things as painless as possible.

Zoom will be our main meeting space, with Roll20/D&D Beyond handling the game-side stuff.
If you’ve never played online before, that’s totally fine. I’ll help you get set up.

📩 Interested?
Send me a message with:
Your age (approximately is fine)
Your D&D experience
Whether you’ve played online before
What kind of character you’d enjoy playing
What races/classes you’ve played before
What days/times generally work for you
Anything you’re particularly looking for—or hoping to avoid—in a campaign

I’ll chat with interested players before putting the group together and update the group here. Three to play and we’ll add as we go/need.

Thanks and hope I hear from you

I am looking for someone who wants to engage with the group outside of dnd as well and build friendships with me and my players. [Online][5e 2024][Tuesdays @ 11:00AM GMT] Explore The Frontier, Outlaw!

If you pick your feet up from the capital of Celestia and begin heading west, you'll eventually arrive at the Edge of Civilization. A great series of walls and fortifications stretch from sea to sea, protecting the Empire of Ryuth from all that lies beyond. Monsters, barbarians, and the elements all fight gruesomely to survive outside of the wall.

Semiannually, the Empire of Ryuth takes criminals that aren't hated enough to be put to death but aren't trusted enough to be reintegrated and sends them over the wall. What becomes of these criminals is a mystery that the citizens of Ryuth tell legends of. Some say they form villages and are picked off one by one by monsters. Others say they find enough fortune out there to buy themselves a pardon. And some say that those who travel far enough find the lands where all souls go to rest.

You never thought those stories would become about you. As the carriages come to a stop and the horses snort, you find yourself dragged out by the wrist. The cold air bites at your flesh. The bag over your head is ripped off. Behind you, a massive wall stretches as far as the eye can see. In front of you, rolling hills stretch on forever. Beside you, several other creatures of various sizes have their bags removed too. A knight stuffs another bag in your hands. You can feel the weight of this one.

"That'll keep you alive for a short while. The chains will magically come undone in about an hour. Good luck; may Hellas find pity for you."

And with that, your new life began.

About Your GM:

Hello! I am Written, and I am starting a new campaign bright and early for me. I have been playing d&d 5e for a long time, and though I am more familiar with 2014 rules, I wanted to give 2024 a try at a longer-lasting campaign. I'm well versed with online campaigns. I've had many die to scheduling, drama, and fatigue. However, I've also had a few diamonds in the rough survive, and they're the highlights of my week! I'm hoping for this to become one of them, and because of that I'm gonna try and be a bit picky with my players.

As for a bit more about me, I'm a 21 year old film major who goes by he/they. I read a lot of manwha. I also binge a lot of romantasy, and I work on webnovels in my free time. I love character-focused campaigns, and I like to make jokes about the campaign OOC. I love tikka masala, earl gray tea, and Halloween! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me! :D

Expectations:

This is an RP heavy campaign. Combat frequency will vary depending on the arc, but do not expect consistent combat every session or other session.

This campaign is beginner friendly!

For the comfortability of all players, this is an 18+ game. This is not an ERP game.

I tend to run hero stories. You can create an evil character, but I find characters who stay stagnantly evil to be boring and mess with the rest of the group’s fun. As such, please only play an evil character if you are ready for them to go through some major change and feel comfortable in your ability to roleplay them without impeding on the other players’ enjoyment.

My sessions tend to last 3-4 hours with a small break in the middle.

This campaign will employ both theater of the mind and traditional battlemaps done through roll20.

The tone of this campaign is fairly serious. Please don’t make joke characters. That being said, it’s not all doom and gloom. Light-hearted characters are welcome!

Backstories must be substantial in length. You don’t need to write a novel (though I won’t complain if you do), but I expect something I can work with. I personally recommend three paragraphs. The first paragraph can be their youth. The second paragraph can be what made their death. The third paragraph can be mostly their personality and goals. I will be giving you custom features based on your backstories, so give me some good content to work with! Additionally, please try to give your character at least one notable flaw. If you struggle with writing, inform me and we can discuss alternatives.

We will have a session 0 to go over boundaries, rules, roll20 nonsense, and whatever else we feel is important.

To Play!:

If you want to play, then just fill out this google form! Because I've had people ask before, google forms require you to sign into a google account, but I do not record your email. If there are any problems, reach out to me on reddit.

Good luck adventurers, and may the dice be ever in your favor!

THE END OF HEROES - try out new character classes in the D&D 5e 2014 homebrew campaign! This FANTASY HORROR adventure is a character focused romp with plenty of room to customize your characters exactly as you want! (PAID - $20) - TUESDAYS

The city of Iriesall is besieged by war, rebellion and now one of its most revered heroes has seemingly fallen to darkness. Who will fill the void?

Quinton Veilar, retired member of Emberwatch, Slayer of Ancient Dragons, spends his old age telling stories in a tavern. After he and his companions have saved the City of Iriesall, it seems that the people are determined to destroy it themselves. Between the war with the underdark, a terrorist insurgency in the undercity, and the oppressive reign of Queen Beirona and the Orders of Sybril, there is little peace to be had. But there was peace in drink, and sharing stories with friends at the tavern.

Through his adventures, Quinton has made enemies, acquired dangerous magical artifacts, and kept many secrets... all of which are about to unravel.

Join the adventure, as a former pupil of this retired hero as he trusts you to protect all he holds dear. Travel to stunning locals, meet legends of old, and maybe.. just maybe.. save the world along the way.

You will create a level 3 character, 1 common magical item, 1 uncommon magical item who was a former apprentie of Quinton Veilar or a similar relation.

Players will have all of the 2014 wizard's of the coast official content to choose from. I am familiar with quite a bit of 3rd party material and using those options can be discussed during our session zero or on our discord server.

There are a number of my personal homebrew classes that will be available as well, such as

Occultist, Wrestler, Gunslinger, Mage, Witch, Daredevil, Alchemist, Dancer, Wyrd Blade

[online] [5e 2024] [Wednesday] [LGBTQ] [EST] looking for long term group

Hey, ima try to keep this short. I’m a 19 year old trans woman, and I’ve been working on this campaign slowly for a few months now. I’m not the most experienced but I have DM’d before. So the campaign takes place in a world where magical kaijus appear suddenly and attack cities. The party will be apart of the Kaiju Defense Force which is the leading organization in the anti Kaiju effort. As a DM my goal is usually fun and I’m willing to flex rules in order for that. I will do whatever I can to make sure everybody is included in the story and I will work closely with all players to make sure your character fits well into the world.
If this sounds interesting to you please fill out this form and I’ll reach out to you!

[Online][Other] Daggerheart first time DM

Hello! I am looking to run my first ever Daggerheart campaign. I've been playing since it came out and I've GMed some one and two shots this year, but I really wanna play and get more experience so we'll see where this leads!

About the campaign: These lands are famous for harsh treatment and punisment for criminals, especially those found guilty of treason and murder. Those unfortunate enough to be caught by the king's guard will rot in prison for eternity. But, if they do possess the appropiate skills, they are offered a choice: To reduce their sentence by enlisting on the iron legion, the king's elite taskforce. They take on jobs for the sake of the kingdom and it's citizens.

This campaign is mostly vanilla Daggerheart, the only guaranteed homebrew is Initiative during combat and weapons from new DH modules. Also, this party is more aimed towards new players of the system (Since we already have two that are newbies) but veteran players are more than welcome!

Organization: This will take in between 6 to 8 sessions of 3-3.5 hours, but I'll be cool if we deicded to keep going. The time will be anywhere in between 8 PM to 12PM GMT-3 on Thursdays.

We will play over discord using Roll20. Anyone interested please leave a comment.

[Online] [Roll 20] [EST] [COC] [Call of Cthulhu] A Quiet Place to Live.

Hello reader, my name is Reyes but you can refer to me as sharky.

Im in need of 4 players for a call of Cthulhu game I’ll be hosting this upcoming Friday at 8:00pm est due to a number of my dnd games being canceled or postponed due to real life events. I wanted to try something new for once and call of Cthulhu seemed right up my alley since I’ve played it before and based many of my own campaigns of DnD with mechanics of [COC].

The setting is a relatively small conservative town in the mountains and forests of montana. The town is what you think of when someone says “living the American dream“ where everyone knows one another and the whole town is tightly knit, think the town from “Beneath the trees where no body sees” meets Mr.rogers neighborhood. The towns name is whispy woodland grove or better known as “whispy woods” by the local towns folk. The era will be 1976 right after the Vietnam war so about a year after the troops shipped back and the start of the decline of the hippy movement. The Vietnam war will play a big part into the towns history as a lot of young men where drafted from the town but only a handful would return alive and fewer still normal but ever since the troops returned to the town there have been a number of mysterious disappearances of people young and old but the police chalked it up to rebelliousness or hysteria from all that had been going on with how the war affected the town until a certain incident would lead the players (you the reader) into a rabbit hole where this small picturesque town isn’t as spotless as it seems.

we will be playing with modern coc rules using ink&insanity for character sheets and using discord for the call along with using roll20 as the TTV.

I do ask for a-bit of seriousness when it comes to making characters but if you guys want to do some goofy stuff such as maybe a more toned down old man henderson or even a character similar to Bonzy the clown then I’m all for it as where here to have fun and tell a story.

⚠️Important please read below⚠️

This campaign isn’t guaranteed to continue as my other games could come back at any given time but if we all have a good enough time then I’m more then willing to leave one of my dying campaigns to fully commit to it. I also must warn you I’m not the best with COC and it will be my first time running it so if you are a rule lawyer you can click off this post now. I also wish to have those above 18 years of age to participate as usually explore graphic body horror and sexual themes in my games tho no sexual acts will take place and will be cut to black.

I hope to see you in the little story I’ve written and I hope for this to become an enjoyable time for all us fellow nerds, goodbye.👋

comment below, DM me, or contact me at sharky_kingofallsharks on discord. I have 3 spots open currently.

[Online][5e 2014/2024][GMT+2][TUE/WED Evenings][RP-Heavy][LGBTQIA+Friendly] Two massive losers looking for more fellow RP-Hungry, angst seeking people

WELL WELL WELL-

Greetings one and all, welcome to yet another unnecessarily long post in which I (Hadez, 26, almost 27 enby creature) attempt to convince you to join me and my bestie (Ency, 23F) for what will most certainly be a very average D&D campaign where we're going to be extremely normal about our characters and the story and the NPCs and literally everything that's happening.

How am I going to do that, you ask? Simple- spend an unreasonable amount of time yapping about all the different things we tend to look for in a group, starting with the most important of all:

  • ROLEPLAY. And I do mean ROLEPLAY. All of our games focus pretty much entirely on the RP aspect of this game, we put a hell of a lot of effort into creating complex characters, including all kinds of little details to their designs, and generally just trying to portray them in a realistic manner that allows for all kinds of interactions- from heartwarming to angsty! We are more than ok with, dare I say welcoming towards inter-party conflict as well here and there, so long as it makes sense and isn't done in bad faith. Let our characters beef it out if they must, just make sure it all stays in character. We are looking to truly immerse ourselves into our characters as much as possible!
  • That is not to say we do not enjoy combat, quite the opposite! While we do not necessarily care much for the number crunchy aspects of it (and by that I mean we couldn't care less), there is definitely plenty of opportunities to be had for roleplay, describing our character's actions and the way we've flavoured their various abilities, or even a little bit of doing something out of the ordinary rule set on occasion! If you put us in a dungeon crawl filled with 10 combat encounters against goblins we will revoke your DM license however.
  • In terms of setting, we are quite flexible indeed! As of right now, we are part of three different campaigns, one being a Clockpunk campaign (it's like Steampunk but there's cars and more modern stuff like that), another being Waterdeep: Dragon Heist but with a Greek inspired fantasy skin, and last but not least, a Wild West homebrew! Don't feel discouraged if you've got a setting that isn't your typical high/medieval fantasy that 5e usually caters to, hit us up with whatever wacky world you've dreamt up! That being said, we would primarily prefer sticking to D&D 5e as our system of choice- either 2014 or 2024 works. We're generally quite adept at adapting and reflavouring anything to fit different settings, so don't worry too much about those lil' details.
  • Circling back to the roleplay aspect yet again, we do have a preference for more character driven stories, where each individual PCs backstory is interwoven into the campaign and given the time needed for it to be explored- as opposed to high stakes, over the top overarching plotlines where Chad God of Jawlines decides to blow up the planet unless we head to the Evil Ass Death Dimension to stop him. Politics aren't necessarily our biggest cup of tea either, but they're not entirely unwelcome in some capacity! This tends to means we gravitate mostly towards Homebrew settings/campaigns, but we're still open to modules as long as they're adequately modified to allow for the style of game we enjoy!
  • More than any of that, however, what we're looking for is quite simple when broken down; people who are willing to put effort into engaging with the campaign as a whole. We're looking for something more than a simple "Play together once a week and then forget that we exist until next week" kind of deal. We would like to get together a group of people who are passionate about this weird ass hobby like we are. If you're someone who doesn't even take the time to properly read through an entire post before sending a generic application (a weirdly common occurence), then I wager this might not be your kind of game. If you did, however, read this far through the post, then you are a real one; which means you get to include the secret phrase "Don't mind the catapult" anywhere onto your application to let us know that you are based like that <3

ANYWAY
Enough about our expectations! Here's what you can expect from us, should you decide that this sounds interesting to you in any way:

  • Experienced roleplayers who are willing to put time and effort into this silly lil' game, both during and outside of the session itself. We are always excited to work together with the DM in order to create characters that fit into the world, even helping with adding worldbuilding details, as well as discussing what kind of dynamics we would like our characters to head towards or give suggestions for interactions that could happen between them! Also we will be sending you songs or videos or memes that remind us of certain characters or moments in the campaign you cannot escape.
  • Meticulously put together character playlists, organized in order of events in their backstory for you to analyze and potentially get an idea of what kind of story or character we're planning to explore.
  • Occasionally (and by that I mean whenever inspiration decides to hit us like crack cocaine), pieces of writing that give further insight on certain themes, events, or aspects of our characters for you to go through, that may or may not include what we in the business call a literary device known as foreshadowing.
  • In the case of my bestie, some of the most incredible art and character design you have ever laid your eyes upon <3
  • Two open minded, supportive, dare I say Woke™ people who are welcoming to everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, and anything of that sort who isn't just a straight up bigot. Also known as common sense.
  • People who are very adamant about safety tools and respecting any would be lines, veils, or triggers you might have. Literally anything that would make you uncomfortable and would rather not have included into the game, just let us know and we'll make sure that it won't be coming up in our backstories!

That just about sums it up! In terms of the elephant in the room known as scheduling;
We are currently looking either for a Tuesday or Wednesday slot, typically aiming for an evening start, usually around 6/7PM (Nobody make the joke-) GMT+2. We don't mind whatever timezone you may be in, as long as you are able to consistently make sessions!

If reading through this somehow convinced you that you would like to apply for this game, please do take the time to fill out this application form, please please PLEASE do not be afraid to write the equivalent of a 5 page essay if you so wish, we will read through it happily! If your application intrigues us, we will be reaching out to you through discord (look out for a friend request from either me, SohadeZ, or my bestie, Enceladus), after which we will be trying to get in a call together so we can ask some more questions not covered by the post/application, and just get to know each other a little better. Looking forward to reading all your applications! <3

(Online) (5e 2014 or 2024) looking for a DM and group

I’m looking to join a new D&D party, as I really want to use my idea for this pirate character I have.
I’m 17 but turning 18 at the end of the month, and would prefer joining a group with people somewhat close to my age.
I support LGBTQ+ and only feel comfortable being an a group who also respects others.
I prefer RP over combat, but am fine with doing combat whenever needed.
