Richmond Baduk Club started via this subreddit a few months ago. We meet every Wednesday evening at the VMFA at 5:30.
We will be holding a casual tournament for new players on July 15th in the VMFA Cafe.
If you’ve ever had an interest in learning Go/Baduk/Weiqi, you should definitely come! I recommend attending the regular meetup this Wednesday July 8th to get your feet wet or at least learning the rules beforehand. (Go Magic Tutorial Video)

FAQ:
When is it? Wednesday July 15th. We usually meet starting around 5:30. The first round of games will start around 6:00.
Where is it? At the VMFA. We’re expecting it to be hot, so we’ll be meeting inside the air conditioned VMFA cafe. If it’s nice out, we can meet outside.
Is there an entry fee? No!
Who can play? Anyone with less than 100 games under their belt. (including zero)
Do I need to bring anything? Just a good attitude.
Is there a prize? Yes, first prize will get a 1960’s vintage folding board and stones from Korea.
What is the tournament format? Games will be played on either a 13x13 or 9x9 board depending on what the individual matchups want. Games will be short, roughly 20 minutes a piece. Single elimination bracket.

See you all at 4pm to commemorate the Stonewall Uprisings and retake the name Stonewall ave. There's a chance of rain, but we'll be marching on so long as there's no lightning.

Venezuela got hit by 2 massive earthquakes, the aftermath is complete chaos, the Venezuelan state has been nothing but negligent, the official emergency response is almost non-existent.

The Venezuelan people, regular civilians, are the ones out there digging through concrete rubble with their bare fingers, trying to rescue people or retrieve bodies, they need as much donations as they can get, they need money, medicine, supplies, shovels, any tools that could be useful for removing debris, flashlights, PPE, anything!

Rescue teams from multiple countries including Mexico, El Salvador and USA (specifically rescue personel from Fairfax Virginia) have come to bring help, but in many places they are being prevented from entering the area by the government officials (for political reasons most likely), please, any dollar, any bag of old clothes, any supplies you can provide, will be greatly appreciated
