Being forced to use Co-Pilot at work and having it return just utter nonsense made me think.
What's a good story where there's a dangerous AI that isn't malicious, isn't doing something creative or unexpected with its programming; we just put too much faith in a thing that didn't work properly? AI not as god, but as the incompetent fool we accidentally promoted to god.
I'd just love to read a story that feels more "real" to our current experience of AI than "super intelligent AI takes over the world."
Sci-Fantasy book recommendations?
Anyone know of any Science-Fantasy series? Only series I personally have on my tbr is Sun Eater, I tried cold fire trilogy but the first book was a bit hard to read for me. Anyone know of any other science fantasy series that are good? (I know of Warhammer 40k and star wars too)
This was an amazing breath of fresh air for me as a long-time lover or Sci Fi. I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a book that challenges you.
Lifelong sci-fi lover and reader, and now in my 40s and just starting working my way through the concept for a novella (maybe a novel if I really get going). It’ll be a type of down-to-earth (not futuristic or drastically unrealistic) first contact / psychological thriller (horror?) first-hand experiencer type of story. I’m looking for any recommendations for other stories that might be similar, short stories especially. I’m experimenting with different tones and voice to find the style that I like most for this story. Going on vacation for 2 weeks and looking forward to reading as much as I can. Thanks in advance!
