Dogs, Dirty Plates, Cockroaches, and Poor Food Quality – The Reality of Our College Canteen

Is anyone else concerned about the hygiene standards in our college canteen?

The condition of the canteen has become extremely unhygienic and it's honestly a serious health concern.

- Dogs roam freely inside the canteen and eat leftovers directly from the same plates that are later used to serve food to students. They lick the plates, leaving saliva on them.

- Plates and utensils are not cleaned properly. Many still have oil stains, grease, soap residue, and I've even seen cockroaches crawling on plates.

- The staff serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food using the same hands without changing gloves or washing them, leading to mixing of veg and non-veg food.

- The quality of the ingredients used for cooking seems very poor, and the overall taste and quality of the food is disappointing.

This isn't just about bad food—it's a serious hygiene and health issue that could lead to foodborne illnesses. Students are paying for food that should at least meet basic cleanliness standards.

Has anyone else noticed these problems? We should raise this issue with the college administration before it becomes an even bigger health risk.

3-1 and we’re still doing this??

Is anyone else’s 3-1 semester this bad?
I’m in my 3-1 semester, and honestly I’m exhausted. Half of our classes feel like we’re just memorizing random definitions and formulas instead of learning anything useful. Slides like this are a perfect example pages of handwritten notes about median, mode, and midrange that could’ve been explained in 5 minutes took 50 minutes of the class . The west part is we’re expected to copy everything and memorize it for exams.
It feels like the focus is on passing tests rather than actually understanding concepts or building skills that matter in the real world. As an engineering student, I expected more practical learning, projects, coding, and industry-relevant content not endless note-taking.
Is it just my class, or is everyone else’s in the same curriculum facing this too? I’m genuinely curious because this is becoming mentally draining.

Paid 4.5L donation for CSE at SNIST. Will people judge me in college?

My EAMCET rank was around 85k. No chance at CSE through counseling obviously. Parents decided to just go management quota and get it done. Got CSE at SNIST, joining in August.

Feeling a bit weird about it honestly. Like I worked hard but rank wasn't enough. Now I'm worried if batchmates will find out and judge, or if it affects placements somehow.

Did anyone else do this?

Is it obvious when someone got in through management quota?
