ELI5 - Differences between Roland SC-8820, SC-88Pro, and JV-1080

I'm new to all things synths so bear with me:

I recently got a new digital piano (Kawai CA701) and I was looking into investing in some hardware that would allow me to recreate music from some of my favorite JRPGs (FF, etc). I watched some SoundFontGuy videos and saw various synths being referenced in the production of the same soundtracks: Roland SC-8820, SC-88Pro, and the Roland JV-1080.

Can someone walk me through the differences between these machines? Is it redundant to get all of these (i.e. what features overlap between these synths)?

Bonus question since I know next to nothing about synths: Is there additional gear I need to consider besides the synth itself? My goal is to be able to hear the samples from my piano's speakers rather than my computer if possible.

The Yume Nikki Soundfont

A few years ago I had wanted to create a Yume Nikki soundfont, but a lot of the samples used were rare and not posted anywhere on the internet as far as I knew. Very recently though, I discovered a WIP Yume Nikki SF (actually on this subreddit lol) with those rare RS7000 samples! Thus, combining findings from the VGM Instrument sources discord, various online sources, and ingame sounds, I managed to compile a full soundfont :D
