For Sale: Tod Cutler Daggers & Warhammer

Hi there! I'm selling a number of Tod Cutler items to fund other reenactment related purchases for my partner and I. I'm the first owner of everything. Condition is brand new, factory sharpened, never used (in any sense of the word, they've just sat carefully in wrapping). These are not machine made, they are hand ground items, based on pieces from the middle ages and reflect such with human imperfections (only cosmetically). I can provide more info/pictures as needed. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Located in Canada. Prices are negotiable.

##Late 13th Century Quillon Dagger (red sheath)

I'm asking $200 CAD.

  • Blade length: 8″/20cm
  • Grip length: 3.5″/8.5cm
  • Overall length: 13″/33cm

> From todcutler.com: This 13th Century reproduction Knights Medieval Quillon Dagger from the second part of the 13thC features a wide diamond section fullered blade, downturned and flattened quillons and a distinctive octagonal pommel.

> The steel hilt components are fitted to an ash wood grip and the dagger comes with a double layer naturally tanned leather sheath fitted with a decorated latten (brass) chape.

##14thC Effigy Rondel Dagger (black sheath)

I'm asking $220 CAD.

Measurements

  • Blade length: 24cm/9.5″
  • Grip length: 9.5cm/3.75″
  • Overall length: 36cm/14″

> From todcutler.com: Mid to late 14thC Rondel dagger. Featuring a flower shaped pommel and disc guard in bronze with a fluted wooden grip. A very strong double sided, diamond section blade.

> This type of ‘gentle’ motif of a flower was typical of knights of the 13th and 14thC. You can see motifs and daggers like this on effigy’s and artwork throughout the period.

> Later rondel daggers had a top ‘disc’ style guard as well but early ones had a more normal shaped dagger pommel as seen here.

> As well as the dagger being typical of the period it comes with a very distinctive ‘cupped’ leather sheath which has been shaped around the bottom rondel with a brass shaped shape with fluting and a heart motif cut out.

> There is an image of a 14thC rondel found in the Thames that has a similar combination of an early 14thC Rondel

##12th Century Quillon Dagger (red sheath) I have two of these for sale

I'm asking $210 CAD.

This medieval dagger is an early version and was the height of fashion in the 12thC and features a stout double sided blade fitted to a simple steel guard and pommel with an Ash wood grip. Stylistically they are similar to swords of the period and this example is based on an English piece, but this style of dagger fits all over Northern Europe.
