As per this Video, and experience owning a tesla navigation is terrible somehow, so in my opinion it’s the only reason why FSD isn’t available yet.

Hi guys, any updates about Model Q Release date in UAE? I heard it’s gonna publish in China in Sep.

I purchased MYLR in 2024 from Tesla Dubai and sold it off recently after driving 35,000 km for AED 125,000. I will try to summarize my experiences and opinions here:-

1. Purchase Process

Before purchase I went to showroom, however the experience turned out to be horrible, the staff was least concerned and made no effort to welcome and introduce the vehicle.
However, this did not deter me from buying a Tesla, I went ahead and ordered the same through the website, which was extremely pleasant and seamless. To my surprise the vehicle was delivered on my doorstep, ready to drive without need to any further action at my end.

2. Pros

Unique in technology and design
Spacious and lots of storage space
Safe and stable platform
No maintenance required
Excellent acceleration and braking
Although not luxurious but very sturdy choice of materials for interior finishes
Excellent audio system
Outstanding connectivity and software support

3. Cons

Expensive parts and services in case required
Limited tire life, and expensive to change tires
Expensive and limited insurance coverage - 15% coinsurance even with comprehensive insurance
Insurance companies categorize Tesla as sports car, also binds the quotation with Nationality of driver
Expensive as compared to other brands available with better finishes
Sharp vehicle resale depreciation
Limited charging network
Crowded public charging facilities
Offers no economic incentive once we look at overall cost of ownership
Noisy Cabin - road noise is significant
Range Anxiety
Offers very little luxury, when we look at equivalent vehicles
Not suitable for large majority who reside in apartments
Additional cost for purchase of home charger and affiliated wiring costs
Ghost braking
Glass roof creates uncomfortable conditions in summers
Absence of HUD

4. Sale Process

Not a pleasant one, I was shocked to find out that I am going to loose almost AED 100,000
Automalls, offered AED 75,000
Individual buys mostly offered AED 105,000 on average, until one buyer offered AED 125,000 and I handed over the car without even thinking twice

5. Lesson Learned

Never to buy Tesla again, it was a unique experience but mistakes are not be repeated
UAE is more suited to Hybrid, buying a HEV or PHEV depends upon personal limitations and suitability, gives better total cost of ownership
Buy pre-owned with GCC service history, as compared to buying a new one
Tesla Model-3 RW is better choice than MYLR

After reading comments, I thought to add on few things, so as not to create any grey areas:

1. Firstly, my views are based on my experience, I have heard a lot of good things about Tesla from a significant number of my friends, and there are also a sizeable number who agree to my views. At the end of the day, its just my personal views, anyone has the right to differ, which is fully respected.

2. Ghost Braking.... is a recognized Tesla malfunction.... where the car suddenly brakes for no good reason once on cruise control/ auto steer. In 2-3 incidents this was about to cause a very bad accident, if either I or the driver at the back was not attentive.

3. True, that I didnt change any parts as my car was in warranty, but if I had to, it is pretty expensive.

4. Tire Life, is 100% based on driving style, I have an aggressive driving style so should be true for me only.

So i am moving away from ICE cars and looking to buy my First ever EV.

In current conditions, is it realistic to look for a super clean tesla 2023+ for 80k budget?

I am talking about less than 30k mileage and not used as a taxi lol. Am i asking for a miracle to happen?

If not ill have to settle for a used polestar . has anyone here transitioned from polestar to tesla?

Quick bit about me first so this doesn't read like spam. I spent 20 years as an aircraft engineer at Qantas. I'm building a way to verify an EV's battery health from home, no dongle, no workshop trip. The idea is simple. When you sell a used EV, the buyer always asks about the battery and you've got no real way to prove it. thats why im building EV TrustSeal

Here's where I'm at. The system works. I've already calibrated it against a near-new Tesla and the numbers came good . Now I want to validate that result against a couple more near-new cars to be sure it holds up. That's it. A few more data points.

So if you've got a Tesla with 5,000km or less and you're willing to help, here's all it takes. You connect your car, then just charge it from around 20% up to 80% like you normally would, and I read the battery data during that charge. That's it, You don't have to do anything else or go out of your way. I'm not after your car for a week. Just one charge.

In return, anyone who helps me out gets a free battery health certificate whenever you come to sell your car down the track. That's the thing I'll be charging $99 for once I launch. My way of saying thanks.

Hi guys i recently finalized a tesla model y 2022 longe range from carnab(buy any car) .i am 23 years old and really struggling to get insurance quotes.

Zero with agency repair. Since i am financing the car i wanted comprehensive. Adnic declined due to hayaza (from agency)
Sukoon dont give insurance to ppl less than 30 (unbelievable)
Methaq has really bad reviews plus no one is picking

Can anyone please help out. This is becoming a real roadblock.

Is it just me, or is Tesla inventory basically empty? I can’t seem to find any inventory vehicles available, while several other car brands seem to be stacked with inventory. Did Tesla change something, or is there another reason why nothing is showing up? Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just my area?

Although FSD is yet to be approved, the listing says availability of other features. Just wondering if the rest of the features like navigate on autopilot, traffic lights etc work here or not with this subscription.

i did a full test on the car pre purchase at EVS and they gave me a full quote that exceeded 14k, i bought the things and installed it at multiple places, i have yet to find a place that has a proper scale for refrigerant gas and compressor oil
