What’s a Chinese product category that’s surprisingly high quality now?
A lot of people still assume “Made in China” automatically means cheap quality, but some categories seem to have improved massively over the last few years.
Could be phones, EVs, appliances, fashion, accessories, tools, anything honestly.
Does China really have its own alternative for almost every major app/service?
Genuine question.
Whenever I read about China’s internet ecosystem, it feels like there’s a local version of almost everything:
- YouTube
- Amazon
- Uber
- TikTok (Douyin)
- PayPal, etc.
Is it actually true that people inside China mostly use completely different apps/services for everyday life?
Curious how integrated it really is and whether some of them are actually better than the global versions.
If someone visits China, what’s actually worth buying there?
Not talking about generic tourist souvenirs.
What are some things that are genuinely worth buying in China because of the price, quality, or uniqueness?
Could be anything honestly. Curious what people who’ve visited China would recommend bringing back.
What's the best Chinese brand most people outside China don't know about?
Could be tech, fashion, gadgets, cars, accessories, food, anything.
Interested in underrated Chinese brands people genuinely think deserve more attention.
Do you think dropshipping ruined online shopping?
Feels like a huge number of products online now are just the same cheap items being resold at massive markups with different branding and marketing.
Do you think dropshipping made online shopping worse, or is it just smart business?
Curious where people stand on it.
Why do people still act like “Made in China” automatically means bad quality?
Genuine question.
China manufactures everything from cheap junk to some of the highest quality products in the world, yet a lot of people still instantly associate “Made in China” with low quality.
Do you think that reputation is outdated now, or still justified?
Curious to hear different perspectives on this.
What’s something people massively overpay for just because of branding?
Could be clothing, sneakers, tech, accessories, food, anything.
What’s something where the branding feels way more expensive than the actual product quality/value?
