People who already own tiny homes: what are the biggest red flags you missed when choosing a builder?

I’m getting pretty close to pulling the trigger but the more research I do, the harder it gets to tell which companies are actually solid long-term. We all thought tumbleweed was the real deal for the longest time...

Point is a lot of them look great online.

What should I specifically be asking about before putting down a deposit?

Things I’ve started paying attention to: water intrusion/leak, insulation, warranty stuff and after sales support, obvs build quality and materials used.

Do you have your companies I should include in my list of top 3?

20F wanting to get a tiny home

Hi all, I am 20F and wanting to move out but the housing prices are so expensive. I currently live with my parents on acreage. I have 60k saved up and me and my parents were thinking of me buying a tiny home and putting it up the back of our yard giving me the freedom I want. The only issue I am thinking is water and electricity. Is it worth setting up an off grid system or getting a line/ plumbing. I would be approximately 1-2 acres away from main house? Idk if this is a stupid question I'm just not sure if j should just go and rent or if this is better 😂

Can someone give a quick explanation on how you would frame this big bay window area at the end of this tiny house?

I am doing some modeling in sketchup. From what I understand, something like this would need to be cantilevered on the inside - But from the interior shots it doesn't seem like it's supported that way. I'm sure I'm missing something simple or that there's some alternative method but I need someone to tell me what! TIA

What’s something about tiny houses you still can’t find clear answers on?

From your experience or research, what information about tiny houses (on wheels or on foundation) do you still find unclear or hard to come by?

I’ve noticed some topics are surprisingly difficult to get clear answers on, so I’m curious where people still tend to struggle the most.

I’d really like to dig deeper into those areas and share clearer information to help.

The technicalities of building a Tiny Home?

So my partner and I have been looking into building our own tiny home/off grid home. Our state (AZ) requires a lot of inspections and permits in order to build a home. Does any one else have experience building a Tiny home or home in general in AZ and let me know if there were a lot of hoops you had to go through and if it was super expensive for all the inspections.

I am also interested in experiences in other states as we are considering moving to another state that has easier regulations for first time home builders.
