Safe neighbourhoods in toronto around some nature? East York maybe?
My gf and I want to move out of downtown toronto (currently in Jarvis area) to somewhere more quiet and, not trying to be rude but with more safety. For example, the amount of catcalls and street harassment my gf gets when she's out alone is ridiculous, and we are really looking for neighbourhoods that have a residential ish vibe with more safety but still a 30 min commute to downtown Toronto, as we work there. A place near a park or beach would be nice.
We're thinking of East York area, but we're not from the GTA so don't know much. Apartments on Woodbine Avenue seem good, near the beaches etc. However, I would really love some insight into what other neighbourhoods people suggest, or what your opinion is on the East York Woodbine area. Opinions from women especially would be valuable regarding how safe such neighbourhoods feel.
If it helps, a 1+1 den in a 2200-2300 price range would be neat. Would really value any thoughts on this, thanks!
