Volume control stopped working on beta
Anyone run into this? Latest beta, volume control with the Apple Remote stopped working on my Samsung. Tried re-registering but it can’t even see the volume signal from the Samsung remote.

New version of tvOS 27 developer beta dropped last night.

Anyone having WiFi issues? I keep dropping WiFi connection and it ain’t my WiFi because it’s working on everything else
Hello, I’ve had an issue for about six months on my tcl Roku TVs in which the Apple TV won’t do atmos. Cables are good, pass through is enabled, nothing seems to work. Can’t see it in control center or in each show listing in the TV app. If I remove the HomePods and do internal speakers atmos shows up everywhere. No issues with my Sonos system on the other tcl Google tv. Has this been fixed on the beta?
I have a problem and would like to know if it’s just me or if others are experiencing it too. Here’s the situation:
I have a third-generation Apple TV 4K running the latest tvOS 27 Beta 5. When I watch content through the Apple TV app—for example, “For All Mankind” or purchased movies like “Mortal Kombat 2”—everything works perfectly. At least as long as I have the audio running through my TV.
Now I wanted to test my AirPod Max 2 with the Apple TV for the first time. The AirPods also have the latest beta software installed. As soon as I connect them to the Apple TV and start a show or movie, the video quality immediately drops to an extremely low level. The audio is also played back in stereo only.
If I start playback and connect the APM2 while it’s playing, the playback runs for a few minutes as you’d expect, until the quality (picture and sound) suddenly drops back down to an absolute minimum.
On beta 5 my Samsung Remote "Back/Return" button no longer works. Have tired this on two Apple TVs and two different Samsung remotes. Everything is fine on Beta 4, but the "Back/Return" button is no longer working as soon as I upgrade to Beta5. I've reported this in Apple Feedback. Feedback status shows more than 10 reports on this with the status "open"
Apple Remote and the I phone Remote application work fine. Just the Samsung remote back/return button is affected on Beta5
This is driving me nuts , I have updated to tvOS 27.5 beta and the audio has been terrible. I have 2 Sonos Arc 300 paired via Bluetooth to my Apple TV. The crackling sound is most noticeable when using YouTube, play pause or fast forwarding. I completely understand that I’m on a beta version of tvOS , but is there a temp fix? 😭
Has anyone else noticed crackling/static distortion in the audio on Apple TV 4K while running tvOS 27 Developer Beta 5?
I am using an Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) with a stereo pair of original HomePods. I first noticed the issue after my HomePods updated to HomePod Software version 26.6.
The problem first appeared while watching live streams in the regular YouTube app. The audio intermittently crackles or sounds distorted rather than simply dropping out.
It is also happening with anything I watch in the YouTube TV app. So far, it seems limited to YouTube and YouTube TV.
A friend of mine is experiencing these exact same issues with the exact same setup: an Apple TV 4K (3rd generation), tvOS 27 Developer Beta 5, and a stereo pair of original HomePods. That makes me think this may be related to the current beta software or HomePod Software 26.6 rather than a problem with one specific Apple TV or HomePod pair.
I have force-closed and reopened both apps, restarted the Apple TV and HomePods but the issue always returns.
Is anyone else experiencing this on tvOS 27 Developer Beta 5, particularly with original HomePods configured as the default audio output? If you have found a workaround or a relevant audio setting to change, please let me know.
iOS 27 Developer Beta 5 is out as of 8/10. Hope it fixes the numerous issues for all. The higher rez audio is WHY I'm on it. Yes, I can hear the difference through a good Marantz AVR and quality speakers. Comparable to Tidal connect.
The back button doesn’t work using my TCL television’s remote (HDMI-CEC) nor with my SwitchBot universal remote (Bluetooth). All other controls appear working and unaffected.
Learning a new IR remote via the Apple TV settings does work, but is not ideal.
Anyone else having audio issues since updating latest tvOS 27 Beta 5?
Since I’ve updated to latest beta 5, my audio randomly gets really low and barely can hear what’s on. Even putting volume all the way up you still can’t hear it.
Force closing apps still doesn’t work. Only way to get it to work is my restarting Apple TV. But it will eventually start back later on.
I’m having an issue where my Ethernet keeps disconnecting, and I’ve switched cables, and it’s definitely not the cables. Is anyone else dealing with this problem?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently running the latest tvOS beta and I’m having an issue with selecting my preferred Home Hub.
I’d like to use my Living Room Apple TV as the main/preferred Home Hub, since it’s connected directly to my network via Ethernet.
However, in the Home app under Home Hubs & Bridges, the Living Room Apple TV shows “No Response” and I’m unable to select it as the preferred Home Hub.
My other Apple TV and HomePods show up normally, and I can select another Apple TV as the preferred hub without any problems.
Has anyone else experienced this on the latest tvOS beta? Is there a known bug or a workaround to get the Ethernet-connected Apple TV recognized and selectable as the preferred Home Hub?
Thanks!
