A Triumphant Alternative to Trump's Arch

As everyone knows by now, Donald Trump is pushing to have a monstrous "Arc d' Trump" constructed at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery. This confessed monument to himself would soar 250 feet into the Washington D.C. skyline, being surmounted by a winged Lady Liberty and two eagles. Those figures - along with four lion statues at the base - will of course be gilded to satisfy Trump's obsession with gold. And speaking of figures, the construction cost for this unnecessary shrine to excess is estimated to exceed 100 million dollars. Here's a thought: Instead of a useless arch, how about a wind turbine?

Rather than $100M, it could be erected for around $3M - $5M and would actually pay for itself (and more) with the electricity produced. It would soar just about as high as the proposed arch, so that's impressive.

As an added plus, it would really piss off Donald Trump. But he really couldn't howl too much if his Arch of Triumph plans are scrapped - he has little in the way of triumphs to commemorate. Inflation still rages, Iran war not working out, poll numbers cratering: hardly perfect timing for celebration. Still, I guess the blades or the tower could be painted gold in his honor.

Hey! And if it works out, maybe one could be installed on the White House grounds to power the residence and the 90,000 sq. ft. ballroom, too? That would be a real DOGE initiative!

The GOP Has a Real Image Problem Going Forward

For the past 11 years, Donald Trump has been the superstar of the Republican cosmos, the party's strongman, it's face and voice. Whether through stupidity, laziness, indifference, or being intimidated, Republicans in Congress, the judicial system, and even state governments were more than willing to cede power and responsibility to him. Whatever Trump wanted, they tried to deliver. But the times they are a-changin', and not for the better for the Grand Old Party. The superstar's light is fading, dimmed by continuing inflation - especially at the gas pump - and inability to satisfactorily finish his unnecessary war of choice against a much weaker nation. His trip to China - an excursion that won no true concessions from Xi Jinping - has made a mockery of his claims of strength.

His little red hats and slogans are becoming a joke. Everything that made America great was in place long before he came down that escalator in 2015 and - despite his unhinged incompetence - will continue long after he slithers away in 2029, if not sooner. And now even some of his most devoted cultists are seeing that he is not one of them, doesn't actually care about their problems, and certainly was not right about everything. Poll after poll shows America's growing disaffection for Donald Trump, his roller coaster policies, and his self-serving antics. This is particularly bad news for all of the potential Republican candidates for the 2028 presidential race.

At the moment the main contenders for the Republican nomination seem to be VP JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and - of all people - Donald Trump, Jr. There are a few senators and governors who have shown interest as well, but they all have the same anchor dragging them down. They have all bowed and kowtowed to the senior Trump, acknowledging his overlordship, marching in lockstep while desperately clinging to his coattails. This groveling has a price. None of them has Trump's fire or stage presence. They have all basically allowed themselves to be seen as nothing but second teamers. Agreeing with and generally supporting your party's leader is one thing. Publicly kissing his ass for over a decade does not demonstrate your fitness to become one of the most powerful people in the world. The voters are noticing.

Trump's Mother's Day Message and One Question.

Trump's Truth Social Message: “Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all, especially to the 115 THOUSAND AMERICANS who found jobs in the month of April alone! As usual, over 90 percent of Bloomberg Economists (nearly all of whom have a 'Terminal' case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME!) underestimated the strength of the Trump Economy. Despite the best efforts of Jerome 'Too Late and Won't Leave' Powell, and the America Hating Democrat Party, more Americans are working today than ever before. Happy Mother’s Day and, know that, we are MAKING AMERICA WEALTHY AND SAFE AGAIN!”

>My Question: Can this man step away from the hate in his heart and just be a decent human being for one whole paragraph?
