So my boy has been training for a year with his local club, as he didn’t take football up until 11 and also plays in a side a year older than him because he joined to play with his mates. Good call by the coach and fully on board with it. A year on now and he’s ready to start getting some minutes but game time will be limited. Again fully on board. Would it be reasonable for me to ask the coach if we just make ourselves available for games against the “lesser” teams where he has more chance of minutes, to save wasting our Saturdays? Or would you be annoyed as the coach, thinking all players should be fully committed every weekend?
