I’m an incoming 3rd year guy who is looking for housing for the 2026-2027 academic year. I normally don’t post on Reddit but I’ve been stuck on the campus housing waitlist and I’m growing desperate right now. I currently prefer anything on campus but will consider off campus options (as long as it is within walking distance to UCR).
Is it suppose to be this hard to find housing in Riverside or did I join the game too late? Am I over thinking it? Is there something I’m not doing right?

hi!! im looking for 2 roommates for an all female house in the downtown riverside area in a gated community. the rooms available are singles from august 2026 - june 2027! i can send the address for serious inquiries only! the rent will be between $630-$700 depending on the size of the room. utilities will depend on our costs but will be between $50-100. there is an in unit laundry room. there's about 4 parking spots (2 in garage and 2 on the driveway, with one person parking on the street in front of the house).
the entire house is a 5 bed, 3 bath. i'm looking to fill two more bedrooms, which one has their own bathroom (not the masters). i included the available rooms in the pictures. the drive from campus is about ~8 minutes.

All the off-campus apartments I've looked at have HORRIBLE reviews. I've seen many people say they recommended houses off campus. Does anyone know of any master bedrooms, studios etc...? I don't mind roommates/housemates but definitely need my own room and bathroom. Also, preferably somewhere with a kitchen. I am my only source of income, so my budget is $1150. Hi, my gf and I are looking for someone to co-rent the other room in this 2 bed / 1.5 bath house for the 2026-2027 school year. The place is in a great spot—it's a gated condo with parking, features an on-premises pool, and is just a 5-minute drive from campus (right around the corner from the Stater Bros on Iowa and right across mcdonalds). The unit itself is pet-friendly, comes with a fully equipped kitchen, and includes an in-unit washer and dryer.
