Housing Assignment Queue

hello,, i’m a incoming freshman at uiuc and was pretty disappointed to find out i got put in the housing queue rather than a time slot. this means the school will just give me a residence hall and dorm and i have no say in it. 🫠 i did meet the priority deadline however i did turn it in a little later than others because i had just gotten off the waitlist around four days before the housing contract deadline. i have a roommate and i’m really scared the housing ppl are gonna shove me in a horrible dorm or even force me into a triple. does anyone have experience with this or how this process works? or am i cooked

Looking for a sublease from June-Aug in Champaign (studio/female units preferred)

I'd be interning at Research Park this summer and will need a space to stay from June - early Aug (flexible). My budget is 400-670 per month (including electricity and water). I'm looking for either a 1b in a shared female apartment or private 1b1b/studio.

Kindly DM if you're subleasing or know anyone who's subleasing with above specifications.

How to start apartment/roommate searching

Im transferring here as a junior in the fall semester, people are saying that the college over accepted and that I should search for apartments stat. What are the best resources and tips for getting on quickly? Im going to be at the ACES quad, so that means I should look in Champaign right?

this is a scam, right?

i posted my apartment for sublease and received several emails from potential people. this one went to my spam. i took a while to answer and i replied with terms which i feel like any normal person wouldn’t be able to cooperate with (i didn’t see the email when i first got it and my situation has changed, not trying to be difficult). i just think this is a scam and want to confirm!

Housing Queue

Hey all,

I’m an incoming freshmen for the 26-27 academic year, and I was placed in housing assignment queue.

I have a few questions related to this, and if you have any additional insight/advice please go right ahead.

  1. I applied to live in the business LLC. Do I still have a chance, or did I not get in? (I haven’t received an email about this yet)

  2. Is it worth looking into PCH and does anyone have any recommendations? I’m currently looking into Hendrik, Bromley, and Armory.

  3. In PCH meal swipes, are they exclusively tied to your PCH or can they be used anywhere on campus or what are the limitations there?

  4. As for being in the queue, is there anything I should know or stay on top of to maximize my chances at anything?

  5. If I have a roommate already, are my chances at rooming with them lowered with the housing assignment queue if i move forward with that option?

Thank you all!

pch recommendations

i got an email yesterday saying I got put into the housing queue instead of getting a time slot. i made peace with it until I started reading posts about temporary housing and it kinda freaked me out, so i’ve been looking into private certified housing instead.

i’m a CS major and my potential roommate is engineering undeclared, so we’re ideally looking for something close to the eng quad . my roommate also has a pet bird, so we need a place that allows that.

Our main priorities are location and a decent dining hall. we’d prefer something roughly comparable to university housing.

does anyone have recommendations?
