Hi Wanderlog devs!

Maybe you’ve already experienced how it is to interact with an app you use via its MCP server. It’s kinda like a simple API that AI tools can call. It has become my favorite way to use Jira.

I‘ve started to integrate AI into my travel planning, but honestly, I don’t like interacting with your piecemeal integrated AI features. An MCP server would allow the AI of my choice to read, and make changes to, my travel plans. Currently I still have to feed it the printouts and then make the suggested changes myself (like a neanderthal). It would elevate my travel planning, and facilitate integration with my other apps.

I know it can be a scary prospect because it feels like ceding ground to the first-party AI chat providers. That is going to happen anyway. Integration and embrace of this change can mean continued relevance.

Why on a travel planning app is there no specific feature for putting in activities & booked tours?
I get around it by putting the meeting point as my “place” then adding it in the notes.
Would be a good idea to have it as a feature.

First of all, I would like to congratulate you on Wanderlog. In my opinion, it is one of the best travel planning and organization tools available. I now use it for all of our trips, especially for our HomeExchange travels.

However, I believe there is one feature that could make Wanderlog even more outstanding.

During a trip, we can write a travel journal, add comments, and attach photos. By the end of the journey, all this information becomes a genuine travel diary. Unfortunately, it is currently very difficult to reuse this content in a meaningful way.

I would love to be able to export the travel journal into a format that can easily be reused in Word, Canva, or any other publishing software, including:

• the journal entries;
• the associated photos;
• maps or screenshots of the itinerary and daily routes;
• information about the places visited.

The goal is not simply to archive the trip, but to create a beautiful travel book that can later be printed through a photo printing service or a photo book provider.

Today, many users have to manually copy everything into Word, Canva, or another layout application. This is time-consuming, even though all the information already exists in Wanderlog.

Even better, why not offer a true Travel Book feature, similar to what Polarsteps provides? An elegant travel book with attractive layouts, maps, photos, journal entries, trip statistics, and itineraries. I am convinced that many users would gladly pay for such a Premium feature.

In my opinion, Wanderlog is already one of the very best tools for planning a trip. With a Travel Book feature, it could also become the best tool for preserving and sharing travel memories.

One final thought: I believe this could also become a new source of revenue for Wanderlog. Many travelers would probably be willing to pay a few dollars to automatically generate a high-quality travel book, or even order a professionally printed version directly from the app. It would encourage users to keep using Wanderlog not only while planning and traveling, but also long after the trip has ended.
