Ballad of falling dragons is messy writiinh

>!!<the first book I loved, I know people said it was hard to follow, but I devoured it.

holy shit balls I am hating BOFD.

the places are soooo hard to follow. It just feels so messy and I have no idea what the fuck is going on. The begining? With the anthe. What the fuck was going on. for so much world building, the locations have none.
they all happen to be in the same place? Then again later when raeve is killing this person and Kahn saving this other person? Same place.

so this moon fall that is happening, where is the sense of urgency? No Reave just goes off for days with a dragon, and Kahn just chills for two days waiting for her in a medow when he should be helping his people.
there is so sense to urgency at this time bomb. It’s so weird.

then siharna said this boy isn’t even due for 4months was it. Yet then just gives birth.

and khan is veyas older brother, he is handed her still fairly young… but he tames rygun and the only thing teatherking him to his life was his mothers singung. By my calculation she was already dead. This feels like a timeline error.

She used the same words and phrases a million times in the book too. it’s such poor edditing. She needs a thesaurus.

I am finding ir so hard to follow. And I am soo disappointed.

WTMH nail designs

Had to share these press on nails inspired by WTMH by @lunapressonsbysami. The detail is so good! I can’t pick a favourite but if I had to choose I’m obsessed with the special edition dragon on the thumbnail, the castle and I love the Alice Cao inspired pinky. And shoutout to Nee!

BOFD chapter 23

im not sure if I missed something but in chapter 23 when they arrive to Beluhn it is described as snowy - since Rygun is a sabersythe should he not be struggling in these climates? but he seems just fine lol. Im sure I missed something but it’s bugging me that I don’t know

Audiobook

I cannot do the audiobook for this book. Ot sucks because I’m more likely to be able to get the book done with audiobook but I get so lost. I’ve read the first one already but want a refresher but I may have to pick up the actual book for these.

SPOILERS! Just finished Ballad, not sure how I feel about…

Literally all of it lol.

I really enjoyed the book overall! I felt like it just dragged a lot and we had chapters upon chapters of just traveling. And The writing wasn’t great in my opinion. Both books are so wordy, every sentence seems to go on and on. I can appreciate this at times to paint a beautiful picture but it felt like it was too much, like in trying to read through it I couldn’t get the image in my head that Parker was going for. Sometimes more is less 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m also not a fan of knowing things our main characters don’t know. So the reveal of Raeve being royalty and Kyzari being their daughter felt very anticlimactic to me.

The characters! I find Kyzari and Ahvi the most interesting right now and I’m falling for the theory that he is her son or connected to her somehow. I love Kaan and Raeve, I don’t care that she had her head up her ass for half the book that’s my baby lol! I’ve seen others critique her lack of growth b ur she’s an angry stubborn woman, I did not expect her to change over night. Her drawn out character development feels realistic to me. Other characters like Grihm, pyrok, Veya… why am I supposed to care about them? I know there’s another book coming and I’m sure they are set up for bigger things but Veya for example… what was the point? She didn’t lead our main party to Kyzari, she helped keep her alive a bit yeah but she was kinda useless the whole time. Grihm, while the end was awesome and clearly leading to bigger plots, I don’t feel like the entirety of his story was necessary and it didn’t do much to make me actually care about him either.

Pyrok is the same thing, why do we care about him? What is this leading up to? Wtf is going on with Essi? How and why are they connected? What does his relation to Dothea have to do with anything? He has like zero personality outside of being a sad drunk who knows how to feed a dragon.

Arkyn… I really hope we see more of him. I hate a flat villain, there has to be more to his story and personality than just vengeance and insecurity.

The ending: is Slatra gone? Why was she ever blind? Where the heck is Roan?! Why did Hadeon come out able to talk and speak while Raeve had to relearn everything?

Can't find hardcover copy

Don't know if anyone can help me, but I'm trying to find a hardcover copy of When the Moon Hatched and I'm having zero luck. No major retailer has them and I've been burned in a scam once already. Is the publisher going to ever make more? Will anyone get restocked? It's quite baffling.

New to the series, trying to understand how the time works

Hello all! I am enjoying going through when the moon hatched and I am about 70% done (no spoilers please!). But even though I am nearly done with this book I still haven’t fingered out what the time terminologies equate to in real life. I can get that a rise/slumber is a day; that makes sense. But is a cycle a year or month? How many cycles are in a phase? Or is a phase shorter than a cycle?
It’s kind of driving me bananas and the other person I know who has read this book wasn’t really sure about these answers either. I just want to understand so I can put the events of the book into better perspective.
I’m hoping some of the people who have read both or are smarter than I can shed some light on this!

Quick question on ch. 65

I’m on Ch. 65 and Kaan wants to know who hurt her after she came back (wanting to know about Arkyn). In Raeve’s response why she doesn’t want to tell Kaan the name, she says his name. So my question is this a writing mess up or like Raeve accidentally dropping his name. I could ask be reading what’s happening wrong too. Thanks!
