Package stuck in storage fee hell and CS isn't replying or giving me the runaround

Hey everyone, I'm stuck in a really frustrating customer service loop with my most recent package and need some advice on how to get this escalated.

My package is stuck on the status "We need to make some changes in parcel data before payment. Please wait." and has been since the 15th. Because of this, I can’t pay for it, modify it, or do anything with it. CS is taking up to a full day to reply to every message and I’m being charged daily storage fees while they’re holding my package hostage. Each time they respond it's a different agent and the conversation basically resets. It’s the 20th in Japan, and I just got hit with yet another storage fee while still waiting for them to release the package for me to pay.

The timeline is roughly like this:

Aug 15: Package is packed and ready for payment and shipping. I originally chose EMS but changed it to ECMS within a few hours because it was half the price. This was also the 59th day of storage. Those are my fuckups for waiting so long and b/c I wasn't aware ECMS doesn't allow lithium batteries; there was one in a mouse I bought. The extended delay after is the issue though.

Aug 16: No action; waiting for Zenmarket response

Aug 17: Support told me ECMS won't work because of the battery in item HWCY1 and then also messed up some customs codes; they added an extra battery and a keyboard that didn’t exist. I replied to explain their codes were incorrect and I also asked how much the other shipping options cost because I was locked out of looking at any prices because of the package status.

Aug 18: They replied back with the package specs but no price list, but I replied immediately asking them to switch it back to EMS and requested they clear the package immediately so I could pay and avoid further fees.

Aug 19: No progress after another day, so I opened a ticket (#1951243) about the storage fees racking up while waiting on their long response times. Instead of responding tot he ticket, fixing it or setting the shipping to EMS, a completely new agent messaged me repeating their first message and asking which shipping method I want again. WTF??? I replied again basically repeating myself and no response.

Aug 20: Still locked out. There has been no response from support for another 24 hours now, and I’m hit with another storage fee. Wooo...

Edit: I just got another response today. Apparently I've been 'forwarded to the relevant department' and they still haven't changed my package back to EMS to let me pay for. Amazing.

It feels like I’m stuck in some byzantine bureaucracy hell where they’re just holding my package and charging it fees without me being able to do anything.

Has anyone gotten them to refund storage fees in situations like this? They really shouldn't be counting packages towards storage days when I'm waiting for stuff they're doing on their end.

Is there any way to get someone to look at this so I can at least pay for the package and get this shipped to me?

Thanks for any help.

I bought a framed poster. Should I ask for it to be removed from the frame and rolled up, or would shipping with frame be not too bad?

The dimensions are 75 x 53 centimeters, and it weighs 800 grams. If it was rolled up I think it would be like a 53 centimeter long roll. Is there a specific way flat items like a framed poster can be shipped without wasting space, or should I just resort to the tube shipped? Anyone have experience shipping posters in tubes/frames with zenmarket?

So... this situation with Japan Post happened to me too, right???

I haven't heard anything about the package since the 5th august, and normally zenmarket packages only take a little over a week to get to me. Now do I have to wait for it to be returned and use another shipping method, right???

I used AVIA as shipping method, what shipping method should i use when the package returns to the warehouse???

(Literally i'm having problems just when i purchase a holy grail for me... i'm so unlucky ToT)

When Will Avia be available again??

I have a few things that have been at the warehouse for 50 days and we are the 18th anyone have any news?

If I want to confirm how my item arrived to warehouse, should I request the photo service or is there another way?

I bought something and I am wondering how it arrived, what it looks like.

edit: I will do that then.

I can't buy from A-on STORE using zenmarket

I don't really know if this is a recent problem, but I wanted to pre-order a product and I'm getting this message. Does anyone know if it's an error? is there any kind of solution? Because, as far as I understand, the A-on store website It is quite reliable and safe to buy and it's the only site where I can buy this pre-order :(

Sorry for my bad english, and because I don't know how to use reddit

Haven’t heard anything since the 13th, is it normal to go a few days without updates?

I haven’t had any updates from Japan Post, Zenmarket or anyone else since then. I’m using EMS shipping to the UK if that changes anything. Should I start to be concerned yet or is this normal?

I bought a poster. I thought it was framed, but I guess not. Lighter than expected. Should I request photos?

I thought I bought a framed B2 poster, and was kind of worried for the shipping, but the weight was like 800 grams, which is a lot lower than I expected. My assumption is it was just rolled up which I think is fine. However I don't really know which shipping to use for it. I also don't know what the dimensions of the poster look like. Is there another way to ascertain the dimensions of the item, or should I request photos in this case? First time using zenmarket, and first time buying a poster.

‘Junk’ Condition in Bulk

Hello, I’m looking for some opinions and advice on purchasing items in bulk/wholesale listings that are described as ‘damaged’ or ‘junk’.

Specifically with regards to bulk purchases of bags, I notice that many are listed as junk, but in the images show very little signs of wear.

Is this just a tactic used to ensure that you can’t return the item, or are they listing the worst condition out of all the items in the listing to cover themselves?

Or are the items genuinely junk and in poor conditions?

Thanks!

Import stopped, package hasn‘t arrived at zenmarket.

As many others in the EU, my package has been send back to japan. Unfortunately it‘s been over 2 weeks since this has happened (last Dhl tracking update says it‘s been loaded to get shipped back) and I haven‘t gotten a message from Zenmarket informing me of it‘s arrival either.…

has anyone had a similar issue, how long did it take to be send back and did you receive any refunds?

Help for Shipping

Hi, I’m currently trying to ship a ZenMarket package to Germany using DHL GoGreen Plus.

The package contains two plush toys and one shoulder bag. The total value of the items is well below €150.

During checkout, ZenMarket gives me the option to prepay customs duties/import taxes with DPD. However, it shows a DPD fee of 1,103 yen and a brokerage fee of 12,110 yen, on top of the actual taxes/duties.

The brokerage fee alone seems extremely high compared to the value of my package.

Why is the brokerage fee so high? Is this normal for Germany when using DHL GoGreen Plus?

And what happens if I do not select the DPD prepaid customs option? Will I still receive my package and simply pay the import taxes/customs fees upon delivery and are they still that high, or could the package be returned?

Is there any way to avoid or reduce these brokerage fees?

I’d really appreciate any experiences from people who recently shipped ZenMarket packages to Germany after the EU customs changes in July 2026.

Is there anything I can do?

I ordered a package on the 5th of September via EMS. I admit, I didn't really check how the new laws affected shipping, I had assumed ZenMarket would have already more-or-less figured it all out and I didn't have to worry about anything. Turns out I was wrong...

This is the first time my package got returned by customs and I don't know what I should do... Should I call Poland Post and ask them about it? Or do I just have to wait for it to return to ZenMarket's warehouse? And what do I do then? The item is a plushie if that matters.

Do NOT ship Joy Cons or anything with batteries in it using ZenMarket

I purchased two pairs of Joy Cons from ZenMarket as the controllers are so much cheaper in Japan and I already had items I needed to be shipped from the warehouse so I figured I'd just add them on. Well, ZenMarket is completely incompetent when it comes to shipping controllers. I selected Avia to ship the items and then they changed it on me to surface because Avia won't ship batteries apparently. I then changed it to ECMS Express, payed for it and two days later get a message from ZenMarket saying they cancelled the shipment because ECMS only allows two batteries per shipment and this parcel contained four.

Ok so remove one item from the package. They do that and tell me to repay for the shipment. I go to pay for it and it's stuck on "we need to make some changes. please wait." I message them again. No one knows why it's stuck on this. Now all of a sudden they're telling me that I can't ship via any of the cheaper shipping options because none of them ship items with batteries in it. Every single rep I speak to tells me something different.

It has been OVER two weeks at this point and my parcel is still sitting in the warehouse because they can't figure out what they're doing here. All of a sudden they're telling me there's a fifth battery in the parcel in another item which is not true... I created this parcel on 7/29 and today is 8/13. Lastly, I asked ZenMarket for a shipping discount via ZenPoints for this debacle and they are refusing to take any responsibility for this situation. Whatever you do, do NOT ship anything with batteries via ZenMarket.

Wrong item received from Rakuma — ZenMarket only offering 10% compensation

I ordered a fairly expensive item through ZenMarket from Rakuma, but the seller sent a completely different item.
ZenMarket contacted the seller and Rakuma, but neither agreed to do anything. ZenMarket says they normally don’t provide compensation in cases like this, but offered me 10% of the item’s value as a goodwill gesture.
The item is still sitting in their warehouse, so I would also have to pay shipping to receive an item I didn’t actually order.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Is it worth pushing ZenMarket for a better resolution, or is this basically how these cases are handled?
