Kinda funny realization off the theory of Kuro and Corvus being the same person. Riyo essentially tells the info broker Kuro to be more honest with Rudo about what’s really going on and then 2 chapters later Corvus is telling Rudo the true mission of the cleaners.

Then Rudo even with his inability to read people starts picking up the vibe that Corvus was still holding out details but still accepts being used.

The funny thing is with Corvus Rudo seems to hold him in high respect and is even a little intimidated by him. (I.e “there’s a big tall guy speaking like a perfect gentleman” quote on slide 2 and his forced polite mannerisms on slide 3)

Which is funny because if Corvus really is Kuro This is canonically how Rudo Had him not even 2 or 3 days before. (Slide 4,5,and 6)

Was rewatching clips from Riyo vs Noerde and saw her do the exact same thing as the 2nd Angel am I reading too much into this?

I would’ve thought 3 or 4 months minimum. But Canonically 1 Month ago Rudo was chilling with Chiwa and Regto On the Sphere 😭

I like the character so this isn’t a hating his story personally issue but rather for the impact of the story.

From what’s shown before or after this would’ve been a great showing of how unforgiving the nature of the ground and cleaners missions are towards the narrative of the show. I’m not a fan of killing off characters just to do it but the impact of it being able to awaken Rudo’s control of his vital instruments is a great way to make it meaningful . And it’d of been great way of easing Rudo into the role of responsibility he would come to feel protecting the rest of the cleaners later. As he would have more of a core reason to have the never let someone take the punch meant for him kinda mentality.

In general, moments like this in shows do well to set the stage for the characters and story to feature the growth that was shown afterwards of Rudo assimilating into his position in the cleaners.

Gris is great and it would’ve been a great he knew the risks and try to live up to his expectations that he left with his death conversation (that Enjin ended up having with Rudo any way). Reversing it afterwards in my interpretation lessened the impact of the moment to begin with. Especially if Gris doesn’t end up playing any major role later in the story. Then it would be keeping him around just to have em.

I know this is unpopular I’m just sharing my thoughts. I hope for the future there isn’t the same trend of character “deaths” as it lessens the stakes and emotional journey

Team Akuta Separated. And Enjin……. Good Times Over 🥺

Riyo for the most part was a mystery. Scrolling on TikTok I saw someone say that Riyo was one of the 3 fates. I’m not studied on Greek mythology so I looked into it and it’s pretty cool and definitely worth checking out.

Interestingly enough The 3 Fates are Clotho the spinner (cast the thread), Lachesis (Decides the length of life until death ), And Atropos (Cuts the Thread)✂️.

We saw that Riyo used to be an assassin but it looks like she wasn’t working completely alone and might even have sisters that were working with her.

Pictures attached show A character not fully revealed yet. After using Translate It seems that this characters name is Ito (Top Left) with the direct translation to that in English is Thread/ Yarn.
Theory being Ito would “cast the yarn” = choosing/ finding the person. By taking a picture. Mystery person (Lachesis) would decide best place and time for the kill otherwise saying “the length of time” left to live.
And Riyo would be the final killer which is why Ito states “every one except that girl” implying Riyo lost her humanity a long time ago.

Riyo’s Role in this story seems to be the Executioner that’s on a path to regain her Humanity. With Rudo even foreshadowing that by asking her if he’s ever to lose his own humanity and start destroying everything to take him out (last picture).

We see at multiple points in the story Riyo struggle with her own self like when she looks distraught after breaking that guys letter from his wife (maybe reflecting on a past trauma) or on the opposite side her standing ominously with the scissors in hand almost like deciding if she should kill. First seen with Rudo when she came to his room earlier in the story and Then after that was the picture I attached of her confronting and aiming them at Amo.

With Rudo seemingly being on a path to lose his humanity and break out of his “Human shell” thanks to Tamsy. And with so many holes on how we’ll get from point a to point b. And on top of all that only being able to imagine what hell Riyo’s parents truly put her through. WE need this Riyo arc pronto to fill the gaps.

A lot was happening earlier this week but I did want to mention that’s Rudo’s first known kill.Him killing and losing his humanity has been a heavy theme so far so how will their grief affect him.

So not only is he not dead. But he can still move to save Rudo AGAIN. Actual Dollfest Arc MVP talks.

At first glance I didn’t understand why Riyo’s mask was a random fish when seeing August explained as the cleaners costume designer who
takes inspiration from everyone’s core personality.

I understood Rudo’s Wolf mask and Enjins Rainman but I thought Riyo’s would be more like Cat or Fox Adjacent due to her personality.

Then I realized her mask isn’t necessarily a 1:1 to her personality but rather another hint towards her past.

My theory is that her full face represents a black koi fish.

Black Koi Fish In Japan/China Represents

•Strength
•Perseverance
•Resilience

As the story goes a school of koi fish would try to swim up a waterfall going against the current and one would eventually leap out and reach the top (Dragons Gate) turning into a powerful fierce dragon.

Looking into it now I think that fits Riyo pretty well. While we still don’t know much about her past. My theory is that she was forced into a position of sink or swim (being an assassin) and out of survival became fierce and strong like a dragon/ sky karp with survival both in the anime and the manga being one of her core themes.

I.e Red (her hair) Koi represents Love, Passion and power. And Green (eyes) Represents health, vitality and new beginnings. Don’t know if these were considered when making the design. But that could also have some meaning to it later

Could be off the mark completely but that’s my 2 cents.

Wishful thinking because he is one of my favorite characters. I still don’t know what the price is. But I don’t think it’s his life. We saw Gris get stabbed through the chest with claws and comeback. This can’t be how it ends 😞😞.

In manga chapter 101 Riyo is shown to have a similar slave tattoo to Enjin. Enjin stated one of his goals was to help kids sold into slavery. Riyo’s also shown to have issues with her parents. My theory is Riyo loved her Mom and Dad but her love got twisted into her killing someone. Maybe her father? And she was sold away afterward. Her person she was sold too used her as a tool for assassination put her through torturous training and had her kill a lot of people. Ends up crossing paths with Enjin (maybe by contract) and gets saved, tattoo removed or hidden, and told to join him start over and to never kill again. (Cooking or delusional 🤔)
