MR pts forfeited due to account closing without a notice ahead
Hi, my checking account was closed by AmEx due to zero balance for a while, and the MR pts linked with it got forfeited immediately, without a grace period for redeeming or transferring out.
I understand that the rules are in their terms, but I'm surprised that they didn't give a notice ahead to remind the zero balance issue, and that they can just immediately forfeit the MR pts without a grace period, which is essentially robbing the money from the customers; definitely not a good will of those terms.
A previous post indicates that there could be a 90-day grace period, at least for NY residents, suggesting that some state law might see this kind of action of AmEx illegal. I'm wondering: Are there any successful class action cases on this issue? Thanks for your attention and information.
