DnD “demo” preparation for your actual campaign

I’m interested in running a DnD “demo” with a beginner player as a DM who never DMd before. Not a full campaign, more like a spontaneous sandbox story for an evening. I’d be happy to share my knowledge and explain things along the way, while also getting a chance myself to practice as a DM. I should mention I am still learning the rules and have been actively playing for around 6 months. Maybe we could learn a thing or two from each other, and it could be a fun way to practice improv and collaborative storytelling a bit too.
