Need horror recs for a specific fear: unnatural smiling

EDIT: holy cannoli thank you SO much everyone!!!!! I wish I could reply to each of y’all, but I wasn’t expecting THIS! 🤣 amazing recs, can’t wait to dive in. Appreciate you all!

There’s really only one horror trope that has consistently terrified me literally my entire life. Creepy f**king smiles.

Especially when it’s unnatural/too still.

Like, I found Insidious pretty silly *overall* when it came out, but MAN. That smiling family in The Further got me goooood. And then more recently, as a grown ass adult, Smile had me actually looking over my shoulder before getting off the couch to go to bed 😂

Something about looking over and seeing someone standing there grinning at you from across a dark room makes my stomach DROP in a way almost nothing else does.

I’ve also had some pretty unfun sleep paralysis experiences over the years, and a couple involved horrifying smiling figures, so I think my brain is just permanently wired to react to it now.

So YUP. Oddly chasing that exact feeling again. Why? Who knows. But I want movies that capture that same “there is something deeply wrong here” terror tied to smiling faces/entities/people.

Any recommendations? & Thanks in advance!
