New Orchid (vaughnara) with unidentified potential health issues/diseases
(Just to put the question out there, The main thing I need to know is “is this a disease, bug, or care issue. What caused it, and does it need emergency treatment. Should I separate it from my other plants? And does it need different substrate?”
Anyway
Bought this little orchid because it was on sale, but it has some sort of issue or disease. If this was just damaged from moving to the greenhouse (adjusting or something) then that would be good to know, but it has strange marks and weird lumps (dark patchy speckled spots of dark-ish purple marks, firm-dark green lumps, and one is white and hard-like dried leaf, yellow patch). I don’t know how much light it got since I just bought it, I will be moving it to a bright spot but I’m worried about bugs/whatever spreading. I don’t typically ask for help since I find out things, but I really don’t want this orchid to die since it did kinda cost a lot despite being on sale.. but also I just don’t wanna end up with a dead plant at all. I will need help this time
Also if this is an orchid-specific disease or something, let me know what it is and let me know if other plants can get it because I don’t actually have any other orchids. I will try to get rid of it but it will at least let me know if I can put it near other plants..

Idk I never had an orchid but I always wanted one. Maybe I made a mistake with getting this guy but honestly I didn’t want a big or very large orchid species. And this guy seemed cool + was for sale. I did do some research and I’m gonna go do more but any tips would be helpful too for this guy. Also btw it seems to be planted in some sort of wood chip and fibers mix. Idk what specifically tho. Would it need new substrate?
(I do have fir wood chips and lava rocks, Wich I heard these guys like, also I know they like drainage, but I don’t wanna bother the orchid if it’s ok so it can spend energy to recover leaves and adjust and so I wouldn’t have to disturb the roots)
Well anyway.. it has many signs of potential diseases or bug issues but I don’t know Wich one(s)
here’s the symptoms I’ve seen
- 1 small fully yellow leaf (probably dying from age cuz natural leaf aging)
- small speckled-ish yellow patch on only 1 leaf
- purple/dark patches on several leaves (especially near bases of leaves)
- something white that looks like water residue (white?)
- white specks
- scratches (probably just physical damage)
- a few dark green lumps on 1 leaf
- 2 noticeably off-colored leaves( the one is the wrinkly one)
- 1 white crusty lump (dried leaf texture)
- and that 1 wrinkly leaf
Anyway yea.. what is the issue/issues and how do I fix it?
(Also FYI; the orchid will now be living in a environment with humidity 60% - 70%)
(Also also, does it need water/a soak right now?)
