If I was a worse person...

If I was a worse person...

I unfortunately don't have a picture of the order due to reasons you will soon hear.

TLDR:I got a triple order and one was extremely shitty. From the order to the customer to the cut of the triple order that was theirs. Everything was just horrible and stupidity kept me from cutting it short several times.

I had a 3 in 1 for $29.77 and 7 miles. Skimmed through and it was a Petsmart big dogfood bag but only that, a food order, and this one. I was foolish enough to not notice the 6 next to the water, nor that the singular bottle of water was next to the words 24 ct... I already spent 15 minutes dealing with this lady adding last minute orders sporadically with an accuracy so close to when I get near the water part and later checkout I would say that they had camera access if I didn't know better. I also had to deal with 2 substitutions that they picked at the very last second... Call it the sunk cost fallacy or whatever but I didn't drop theirs and not sure if its the app or me being 4 months a newbie, but I can't see how much each order is until after pick up.

Skip to the drop off of this order. I was about to flip and just ditch it all when I saw the apartment emoji, but it was a trailer in a trailer park. I did have the porch to climb in stairs but I can deal with that little if I don't get greedy in how much I carry up.

Still with me? Cause this is what likely has gotten a complaint on me with thankfully no proof. The lady came out and was all chipper as she told me, not asked me TOLD ME, she actually needs me to carry them to the cooler in the back (back of trailer or some kind of yard I don't know or care). I took a second before telling her I can't as I had 2 more deliveries, being timed, and was already an hour late to a personal thing (Thursday night is DnD night my nerds). She instantly changed her attitude to the entitled kind every service worker knows. (For the rest of this please note I was never worried about my safety and completely forgot about the apps safety features like a dumbass)

To cut a long whiny rant short, she basically was going on about how I was hired by her to bring her groceries and she won't consider the job done unless I did what she said. A few rude words and jabs as I just ignored it and set the rest of her things at the bottom of the stairs. I walked past her and took this pic and another for the app before completing the order and attempting to walk down. She BLOCKED me! I was pissed before and there is only so much I was up to take before snapping. I told her if she didn't move her fat ass out of my way I'd kick her down and walk over her if I needed to. I walked down a few steps before lifting my leg and she moved real quick. As I get in my car she's yelling about getting me fired or something.

I am now in the process of reporting the incident and hopefully getting her banded while writing this and having my snake lady battle pun themed enemies. So having said all this how much was this order specifically? Well I am eating my stress away with a DQ blizzard and that cost more than she paid me, $6. The single entrée order gave me more than she did and this is dividing the base pay by 3 and rounding up!

TL;DR - Guy thinks the customer equivalent of love bombing will get him something extra. I did absolutely nothing different aside from maybe being a bit petty.

The minute he started all the texting I knew this guy was gonna be annoying somehow. Then when I saw the whole recharging his card and adding a tip thing and just knew this guy was the add on to my double order. I did not believe for a second he was gonna do anything for me, so I just went about it like normal.

I will admit a was smirking a bit when the employee asked if 4 will do and I just said yes. Why give a cheapskate even more free stuff than normal, heck only reason I asked was to ensure no negative reviews. Also didn't use my hotbag, was semi warm at drop off.

As predicted, base pay only with no tip at anytime. Probably thought saying that would get him better service or something.

Edit to Add:

So apparently people think they are high and mighty "cause they would never". It was a total of 1.5 miles and in the direction towards home. I was about to end dash before it popped up and thought why not, I am literally wasting fractions of gas more on this than if I just went home and I got no where to be. Even if it was not on the way home I still probably would have taken it for the target run, baby medicine and Pedialyte. Please remember that we do not all have the same market! I am just shy of (admittedly pointless) platinum, bounce between cause I truly don't care about AR, and I will be lucky with an order over $10. This isn't even my main job too so I care less about the amount so long as I get enough to buy rewards for the kids.

So I guess some context will help you get why this is not just caution, but basically playing with trouble if you do it.

I live in a place near a military base known for its horrible reputation, honestly it is just the worst, and it has long since effected the 3 cities built around it. Thus house was half way into countryside in a house that had holes in which I could see the inside of the house through, yet it was very clear at least one person lived there in a non-squatter/homeless way.

I stayed in car and was gonna get out only when I saw the person, called the number attached to the Door Dash account (different). No answer. Text I am here. No answer. I call one last time with no answer before going through customer service. Sent the text above and then after a bit left.

The amount of people in my area who have been scammed/hacked by giving out their number or calling an unknown one is ridiculous. I have no doubt in my mind that if I called that number I would be lucky to get out of it with verbal assault and nothing else. Dumb as hell that they would ask this in my area.

I was looking into somethings as possible write offs and saw that since the taxes are not taken by Door Dash it is sometimes recommended to do quarterly taxes. I have only been driving since February and still don't know a lot of this stuff. I track my dates worked with the total hours and how much was made that day along with the mileage. I made a google sheet that gives me all the stats at the top, do I need to do anything if I have a negative net profit or do I still need to do the quarterly and if so how? What does it need and what is the average taken for taxes?
