Deciding on T2 Units? Look no further.

As we get into the end of trimester (good luck on your EoU assessments!), you're probably looking at your next trimester courses.

Deakin has two different unit handbooks. Unfortunately, google links to the lesser of the two options.

You're probably familiar with this version;

(https://www.deakin.edu.au/course/bachelor-science)

But there is a second version buried in the deep recesses of Deakin's website;

https \ handbook.deakin

(https://handbook.deakin.edu.au/current-students-courses/course.php?course=S320&version=4&year=2026&keywords=Bachelor+of+science)

This second handbook goes into detail of all the compulsory units and necessary course overview,

Which gives you links to the handbook version of your units!

>>Make sure when searching this section you make note of what year the information is in reference to. Deakin keeps previous years' course outlines on file. Make sure that you select your course as from 2025 and onwards (or whatever was your commencement year).

These pages detail exactly what topics you will be studying, exactly what the assessment tasks are (and their grade weight), and what week of trimester it will be due. It also tells you what assessments are hurdles to pass, and any textbooks you will need.

It also outlines what trimesters and locations the unit is offered in. This lets you shuffle your units around so you can better balance "harder" units against easy A classes. You can also check to see if your unit is offered in T3: around October to December, so you can spread out your course load if you can/want to.

>> Make sure that you look at your ENTIRE course structure before you do this. Otherwise , you may end up with leftover units that will extend your degree by a trimester.

With all of this information, you can get the jump on your trimester!

Make a plan ahead of time what assignment tasks are worth the most and when they are due, so you can get ahead before the end of trimester crunch time.

Compare your unit due dates so you can better plan which to focus on and when.

Figure out what weeks you really need to come in to campus (for labs or in-person tasks).

Information is power, people!

Go forth and crush this trimester and next.
