Is EJ just trolling the SEC with Drake tweets?
Quite honestly?
Yes. One hundred goddamn percent, yes.
Is it conscious trolling of the SEC or is it just a man keeping his feed warm while the regulatory machine grinds through his S-4 like a government mule chewing wet hay? Both. It’s absolutely both and anyone who tells you otherwise hasn’t been paying attention. Jackson likes Drake. Respects him as a businessman, an artist, a brand architect who prints money while his enemies sleep. That’s real. You don’t fake that kind of enthusiasm, not convincingly, not at scale.
But you also don’t go dark for three months just because some bureaucrats in Washington have your paperwork stacked on a desk somewhere between a coffee ring and a stapler. Not when you’ve spent years building an audience with the attention span of a golden retriever on amphetamines. You keep feeding the beast. You keep the lights on. You tweet about Drake and UMG returns and catalog licensing while the machine decides your fate and you do it with a straight face and a gleam in your eye that says I know exactly what I’m doing here.
Can you imagine being the SEC officer in charge of monitoring EJ during this quiet period and being constantly bombarded with Drake deep dives? Can you imagine how maddening that would be? It’s actually kind of hilarious.
The man knows how to work a crowd. Always has. The quiet period just means the crowd needs different music until the crescendo.
