Joined the Club!
I used to race dirt track back in the day but its been over 20 years since I last took out my RC10. My almost 7 y/o son has gotten more and more into RC cars over the past year and I was a little jealous to be honest! I discovered the SCX30 and it seemed perfect for what I wanted to do. Just have something to drive around inside or maybe in the backyard. I didn't realize at first how slow crawlers would be but I love the challenge of trying to get from A to B. I have this great dry "river" of rocks in my backyard that goes like 30 feet from side to side that I'll be able to use to drive around.
Of course, I already started looking at mods I could do since I have noticed that its pretty easy to roll over. I don't really want to change much but from what I've seen, adding some unsprung weight might be the way to go? I picked up the Injora 65T motor when I bought it too but I might not put it in for now because I've realized speed isn't what I need.
If I wanted to do some minimal upgrades, would just adding some metal nuts to the wheels be a good start? I know I could take off all the gear to help with the center of gravity but I think that stuff is too much fun to be honest! Love this thing already...I can't believe the amount of detail it has in such a small package.
