Austin here. Today marks a big day for Do Geese See God.
DGSG is on the verge of crossing the 10,000-subscriber mark on YouTube. This is a big threshold to cross, one that has taken a monumental amount of work and support.
A lot of you probably already know, but for those who don’t, the show covers bizarre mysteries, the paranormal, niche cults, survival stories, and hidden history.
In the months since I’ve launched the show, I’ve had limited outlets as far as social media exposure goes, and I know this subreddit has been a big contribution to those numbers.
So I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported DGSG up to this point. It’s been a passion project of mine that I’ve put so much effort into, so it’s been awesome to see the show come up in recommendations here. The kind words people have sent me have really kept me motivated during some of my hardest days.
Through this 10,000-mark, as we cross one great threshold, I’ve come to understand one of DGSG’s greatest hurdles: organic marketing is one of the toughest parts about launching an independent production in the sea of infinite content. The time and resources required are staggering in an oversaturated climate.
To put it simply, more exposure to new listeners and old fans who still haven’t found me is the only way to make this project sustainable. My editor Kelley, my producer Robert, my support beam Matt, and the wonderful artists and guests that I work with– they’ve held this show up, and me as well, week after week. And to maintain this, I need the show to get just a bit further, just a bit faster.
So if you haven’t already, go check out the show and subscribe to Do Geese See God wherever you get your podcasts:
Even more importantly, go tell your friends, your family, your dogs, your cats, and the closest porch goose about the show.
If you’ve already done this, I cannot thank you enough.
Edit:
Thank you, mods, for the stickied post.
