2000+ hours in the game, calling it quits after the recent update.

I know Kinetic Games doesn't respond to valid criticism (or bug reports for that matter). But this is one of the games I was truly passionate about, and met wonderful people to play the game with.

Considering that ever since console release, the game has been in a very clear downward trajectory in terms of quality of the updates, I had my expectations VERY low for the recent update.

And Kinetic still managed to exceed those expectations and dig themselves deeper into the hole they have dug with making this game "immersive". I cannot fathom how these animations, the jank, the models, the friction were all tested by PAID QA teams, and approved for release.

Doing anything and everything in the game right now has an awkward pause with some weird animation that doesn't feel good visually. After 5+ years of somewhat snappy interactions with various equipment, the newly added delays are beyond frustrating to say the least.

I wouldn't have mind "janky animation with 3rd grade models" if the gameplay was still responsive and fun. But they had to ruin everything for something that doesn't even resemble anything close to a finished product.

I know the vast majority of the players are just okay with playing the game on Professional difficulty with a few friends on the weekends, and that is the extend of their interaction of the game. But there existed (and still exists) a smaller, more "sweatier" group of people who love to play the game on the hardest difficulties and still enjoy them.

The game had slowly been driving them away over the various updates, and I think this is the final nail in the coffin. I am sure the game has already sold more than they expected, and generated more revenue than they know what to do with. There is no point in expecting more quality updates from them anymore.

I really hope the players speak up even more against this update so that they consider rolling it back, but I don't think it's a realistic outcome. Just gonna vent my feelings in this post for a game that once used to be the one thing that I loved interacting with on a daily basis.

Edit - This post was made by me last year. I can see the contrast in community responses now vs then haha.
