Bandcamp Standalone Web App + Collection (for Mac, Linux, Windows)
Hallo!!!
Like a lot of people, I got really tired of the standard Bandcamp UI and how the audio stops every time you click a new page. I wanted a dedicated music player, but one that didn't completely hide Bandcamp's discovery and collection features
I ended up building my own desktop app. It is basically a native app with an indestructible audio player and its own custom collection page! (Huge thanks to Bandcamp Deck for the code that helped accelerate this)
The app intercepts the audio stream the second you hit play and routes it to a persistent player anchored at the bottom of the window. You can browse the entire site and click whatever links you want and your music will never stop playing ^__^
I also added a few extra features that were really important to me:
- Collection queueing: Stream straight through your personal collection seamlessly without having to manually open up each individual release page
- Easy downloader: Go straight to the download page of any release in your collection with a single click
- Discord Rich Presence: Automatically show off what you are currently listening to on your Discord status
- Last.FM Scrobbling: Log all of your plays natively
- Built-in Dark Mode: Automatically applies a dark theme bcuz ... you know
It is completely open source and I just pushed out the first version (after many minor iterations). If you want a better way to listen to your collection while browsing for new music, please check it out :D
