I always see those YouTube videos like JLaser and hacksmith, where its someone making a superhero’s weapon or some type of gadgets and wanted to know how I myself could start doing stuff like that as a college student. I have a basic arduino r3 uno starter kit and am starting to learn electronics.I would like to expand my knowledge as I know it takes more then electronics to create gadgets and tinker .Any tips, ideas on what to study or focus on, or just general advice would be helpful.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to start learning tinkering and electronics. I’ve been really interested my whole life in building and creating things and taking them apart but until recently in college I haven’t had the true motive to start but now I don’t know where to really go. I started with the eleegoo uno R3 kit for electronics but I’m really confused on where to start with tinkering. I was told that buying “mechanical engineering” kits like with building robots is bad for overall learning. I’m also don’t know what tools are really needed I’ve done a bit of research but I’m still confused . If you guys can please help me live out my gadget building fantasy and drop any suggestions or tips I would be very grateful!
